About Academy of Tutors
Academy of Tutors is a private tuition provider serving families across Singapore on an islandwide basis. The agency is KakiList verified and registered with ACRA, confirming it operates as a legitimate business entity. It holds a perfect score of 5 out of 5 on Google, though this is drawn from 48 reviews, a moderate sample that is encouraging but worth bearing in mind when weighing the rating. Pricing is positioned in the mid-range bracket.
Families typically begin by contacting Academy of Tutors to discuss the student's current level, school syllabus, and specific subject requirements. It is worth clarifying whether tuition is delivered one-to-one or in small groups, whether sessions are conducted at the student's home, at the Burlington Square centre on Bencoolen Street, or online, and whether the arrangement is term-based or more flexible. Asking about a trial class before committing to a longer package is a reasonable step and standard practice in Singapore's private tuition market.
To take the next step, reach out to Academy of Tutors via phone or the enquiry form on their listing. Come prepared with the student's school level, subject needs, and preferred session days and times so the team can match an appropriate tutor and confirm availability.
Take the trial class and confirm the tutor's actual credentials before committing to a term.
Excellent and all-rounded tuition centre. Provides tuition of a variety of subjects with highly dedicated and amazing teachers! They are extremely helpful and do their best to help you whatever problem you have. The teachers’ teaching style is unique and they can adjust the lessons to the topics that you are facing difficulty in.
My tutor is nice caring and supportive and she’s a very good teacher and help brush up my math. She goes the extra mile in guiding me. Highly recommended.
I go to tuition here for Math lessons. Ms Yvonne Chen is very helpful and patient with her students and always stops to ensure everyone understands the content fully before continuing. Under her guidance and help my math results have steadily improved and i strongly recommend anyone looking for tuition to attend Future Academy.
I attended class here when my GPA for math was very bad. In Y2 I managed to get a 4.0 after one year of lessons! Very grateful for the entertaining and enriching lessons. There is also good use of digital tools to enhance learning, even if one cannot make it physically, they are able to attend the lesson online in a way that is equally educational.
It is amazing, the teachers are great there and I really enjoyed it. I really recommend it because it helped me with my math a lot and it is a very good place to learn. I think it was very good that I chose to go here because it was so worth it. I felt very safe and I could ask any question, and they would help explain how to get to the answers. I think that it was very amazing that they print sheets for you to work on based on what your doing and I think that was a thing I had never seen before. I think they have amazing teachers and the teachers would sit down with you and explain each question you did not understand. It really helped me improve in math and I think it got me more confident in myself and not wondering if I was right, and instead knowing I am right. It was really great and I think Ms. Chen is a great teacher.

Academy of Tutors displays a mid-range price indicator, though specific per-session rates are not publicly listed and will depend on the subject, academic level, and whether tuition is one-to-one or in a group setting. When enquiring, ask whether fees are quoted per session, as a monthly package, or on a per-term basis. It is also worth confirming whether a trial class carries a separate fee, whether any materials or assessment charges apply on top of session fees, and whether sibling or multi-subject discounts are available. Some providers offer a reduced rate for the first session to allow both parties to assess fit before a longer commitment is made. See the full private tutors cost guide for Singapore →
Many private tuition providers in Singapore offer a trial class, and it is reasonable to ask Academy of Tutors whether this option is available before signing up for a term or package. A trial session allows you to assess whether the tutor's teaching style suits the student's learning preferences and whether the level of instruction is appropriately matched to the student's current ability. During or after the trial, observe whether the student was engaged, whether the tutor identified gaps in understanding, and whether the session felt productive rather than simply a recap of material already covered. If a trial is not offered, ask for a brief introductory call with the assigned tutor before committing.
Specific tutor credentials are not listed publicly for Academy of Tutors. When enquiring, it is advisable to ask directly about the qualifications of the tutor who would be assigned to your child — in particular, whether they hold a degree in the relevant subject, whether any have NIE-trained or MOE teaching experience, and how many years they have been teaching at the relevant level. It is also worth confirming which syllabus the tutor is familiar with — MOE, IB, IGCSE, or AP — to ensure alignment with the student's school curriculum. A well-matched tutor in terms of both subject expertise and teaching approach will typically produce better outcomes than credentials alone.
