A very interesting Hainanese kueh, coming from a non-Hainanese. was walking around and came across this store which is right at the corner. Tried their Ang Ku Kueh and Hainanese Yi Bua, there was also a Sweet potato Yi Bua as well. The traditional Yi Bua is very flavorful, every mouth was filled with tastes of coconut and ginger, there is also peanut and sesame in there as well. Sweet potato Yi Bua was soft and you can smell the soft hints of the Sweet potato as well. Ang Ku Kueh Mung bean wasn't too sweet, sweetness was just right and the skin was very soft and very mochi like. They also have this Traditional Hainanese snack called Hee Hao, very nice to munch on. Might need to preorder in advance because when i was there, people ordering in bulk and almost sold out and i was lucky i went in first!

Bought some hainanese Yi buah which is handade daily. I like the texture of it and has a tinge of ginger taste. Portion size is quite huge as well. Worth it at $3 per box. There are two in each box.

The family-run business is started by the late Mdm Yeoh since 1970s at a hawker store at Toa Payoh. @allthings.hainanese is launched in Sept 2020 with a modern concept yet retaining the original passed down recipe with an aim to reach out to the younger generation and keeping Hainanese tradition alive & in honorary of Mdm Yeo. With the opening of their 1st physical store at Bras Basah Complex, you can now shop and takeaways their Signature hainan laksa, Yi Bua, Bua art, mochi, kaya, kaya butter croissant, etc here! 𝗙𝗲𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗱: 👍𝗦𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗛𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻 𝗟𝗮𝗸𝘀𝗮 $4.50: Enjoyable creamy gravy with right level of thickness was flavourful with use of dried prawns and coconut milk. The smooth thick beehoon came with a generous portion of quail egg, fish cakes, beansprouts, prawns and tau pok. The taupok which soaked up the rich savoury gravy and goodness with every bite was enjoyable. 👍𝗞𝗮𝘆𝗮 𝗕𝘂𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗖𝗿𝗼𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗻𝘁 $2: Addictive homemade kaya with a slab of butter in airy and crispy croissant. Shiok! 👍𝗬𝗶 𝗕𝘂𝗮 $1.40: The moist & flavourful fillings came with a generous mix of grated coconut, peanuts, ginger, sesame and Gula melaka. The chewy exterior resembled Ang ku kueh. You may not be used to the slight hint of ginger at first but it will grow on you. Definitely worth a try! 👍 𝗣𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘂𝘁 𝗔𝗻𝗴 𝗞𝘂 𝗞𝘂𝗲𝗵 $1.40: Ang Ku Kueh came with smooth and chewy with thin skin. Fillings were generous with right level of sweetness and good match with the Pandan flavoured skin. Unique flavour that akk lovers must try! 👍𝗠𝗼𝗰𝗵𝗶 (box of 12) $8: Deconstructed version of their original Yi Bua recipe, the mochi had a soft and light springy texture with an additional layer of grated peanuts that added a pleasant crunch. Make a visit to takeaway some authentic & traditional Hainanese Kueh today. NO eat-ins available.

Never believe 8days review again. Tried the mini set for $6. Every single piece of kueh is so inconsistent. Even for the same piece of kueh, one side of the skin is thick and chewy, other side is thin and soft. Even the sugar is not properly mixed. It was so difficult to peel the leaves from the kuehs. There is also no claimed sesame seed fragrance in the Yi Ba. The kuehs, bought from hawker stalls tasted way better.

I pre-ordered 40 mini Yi Buas for a housewarming party. They came beautifully packed all in one box with a transparent lid. The minis measured about 4cm and it was the perfect bite size. All the guests were full of compliments for this delicious treat, especially with the ginger taste being just right and not too overpowering. Will surely return for these yummy petites!
