About Dance Avenue
Dance Avenue is a dance school operating from its studio at 261 Waterloo St, #03-09, Singapore 180261, with coverage across the island. The school holds KakiList verification, meaning operating details and contact channels have been confirmed by a real person. It carries a Google rating of 4.8 out of 5 across 68 reviews — a moderate sample size that provides a reasonable directional signal of customer satisfaction. Pricing sits in the mid-range ($$) bracket, though specific per-session or monthly fees are not publicly listed.
Prospective students or parents are encouraged to enquire about level and syllabus fit before signing up — for example, whether classes are structured around beginner, intermediate, or advanced tracks, and which dance styles are on offer. It is worth asking whether sessions run in groups or as one-to-one instruction, as this affects both pace and pricing. Confirming term commitment length upfront is advisable, as many dance schools operate on a fixed school-term or block-term basis rather than rolling monthly enrolment. Those who prefer to assess teaching style and class environment before committing should ask about a trial class.
To take the next step, use the enquiry form on Dance Avenue's listing to ask about current class schedules, available levels, and trial class arrangements.
Take the trial class and confirm the tutor's actual credentials before committing to a term.
After leaving the my honest thoughts here, I received a message from one of the staff and was offered a complimentary class, on top of the one I already paid for. The studio was apologetic for the service and acknowledged that they would improve on their processes for last minute class cancellations, so future students would not have to make wasted trips :) The studio also extended the expiry of the complimentary class, so I had more time to come for a class despite my busy schedule. Few weeks later, I eventually attended a New Jack Swing class, by Jin Wen and thoroughly enjoyed myself! It was a small class, but the environment was inviting and welcoming. It was easy for someone who hasn't danced in awhile, to feel comfortable and to enjoy the class! Thank you EV Dance!
Here to share my honest feedback. To my fellow first timers out there - please read! I registered for a class last night and made full payment for it on the MINDBODY app. After work today, I travelled down, took 2 buses to locate the studio, only to find out that the class is cancelled as the trainer is overseas. When asked why it was not told to the students who had registered, the staff said they had updated their Instagram highlights just 4 hours ago, about the cancellation. When asked why they did not personally inform the students (either via text or a call, or an email) the studio replied saying that their usual process is to just update via Instagram. When asked if there’s a replacement class, the studio said that the next earliest class is at 930pm.. and that the 830pm class is also cancelled. At this point, the disappointment was just too much, there was no way I was gonna wait for 2 hours. When asked why the cancellation was not reflected on the MINDBODY app, they had no response to that. It was very disappointing to hear that although the studio had all the details of its students - name, contact, and whether payment was made, there was no thought as to inform them about the cancellation so a wasted trip could have been avoided. And it’s even more upsetting to hear about the assumption that every student would check the Instagram for updates. What if we were stuck at work and had no access to our social media? May I suggest to the studio that if a class were to be cancelled at the last minute (on the day itself) and could not find a replacement, that the studio should have the basic courtesy to inform students who have already registered and made payment. I think the bare minimum would be to drop a text since they have access to our contact numbers. I also wondered why I paid $16 via MINDBODY when the Instagram post stated 15 for an open class for first timers. The staff mentioned that there is a $1 platform service fee if we register via MINDBODY. This was also very upsetting as I was not informed of the extra dollar I had to pay if I registered online. There was also no clear specification on their Instagram post that $15 would be for walk-ins only, payment at the counter.. wordings used on social media would portray different meanings. It would have been great if this information was clear and told to students openly, so they can then make the decision to pay the $1 or not. so now, not only did I make a wasted trip, I also paid extra for a class I could not attend. Though it’s just a dollar, money is money ): Initially, I was very excited to attend the class and heard many good reviews about the studio. In my own journey as a dancer, I had not attended a hip hop class in ages and was really looking forward to it. Though I appreciate the staff who was patient in answering my questions, I implore the studio to develop their customer service recovery when such situations occur, and relook the admin processes when it comes to last minute cancellation of classes. Really hope that these matters can be looked into for the betterment of the studio. Yours truly, Someone who was really excited for New Jack Swing 💃🏻
The instructors are very patient and classes are fun and easy to follow even for beginners. Love that they also have a wide selection of classes to choose from, from kids to adult classes. Two thumbs up 👍🏻👍🏻
Just wanted to leave a courteous feedback to this studio and also heads up for new joiners: I’ve been on a WA conversation with them for about a week now, just simply asking for more information/sign up. The studio is really tardy with their replies for just simple questions, I’m not too sure if I approached them on the wrong platform or their response is just really slow/inefficient. It makes the sign up process for a new comer really difficult. The person I texted agree to help register for a class happening the next day, but till the day itself there’s no confirmation or response from them. Perhaps someone who is familiar with the new joiner SOP, or the business owner can leave a reply on what’s the best platform to approach them for a smooth process. For now, I’ll just look for other alternatives instead ..
fun classes, friendly instructors and staff, do come!!

Dance Avenue displays a mid-range ($$) price indicator, but specific per-session or monthly package fees are not publicly listed. In Singapore, dance class fees typically range from S$25–60 per session for group classes and S$80–180 for one-to-one instruction, with term or block packages often offered at a slight discount versus drop-in rates. A one-off trial class may be priced separately, sometimes at the standard session rate or at a reduced introductory fee. It is also worth confirming whether there are any materials fees, costume costs, or annual registration charges. See the full Dance Schools cost guide for Singapore →
Many dance schools in Singapore offer a trial class so prospective students can assess fit before committing to a full term or block. It is worth asking Dance Avenue whether their trial is priced at the standard session rate or at a reduced introductory fee, and whether it counts towards the first term if you proceed. During a trial, pay attention to the pacing of instruction, the teacher's ability to engage students at the relevant level, and whether the class size allows for adequate individual attention. If you are enrolling a child, observe whether the teaching style holds their engagement and whether the group's skill level is appropriately matched.
Dance Avenue's instructor qualifications are not publicly listed on this directory. When enquiring, it is reasonable to ask whether instructors hold formal dance certifications — for example, qualifications from the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD), Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD), or equivalent bodies — and how many years of teaching experience they carry. For syllabus-based dance programmes, confirming that the instructor is certified to teach at the relevant grade level matters, particularly if students intend to sit formal examinations. If this information is not available through the enquiry form, Dance Avenue should be able to provide it directly on request.
If Dance Avenue isn't the right fit, these are other dance schools providers on KakiList worth shortlisting. All are independently listed — no affiliate fees, no "featured" sponsorships.
