I had been suffering from debilitating wrist and thumb pain and swelling since April 2023. My experience with the public route (A&E, Polyclinic, Physio & Hospitals) was frustrating as I was bounced around with inconclusive diagnoses and long waiting times in between consultations, till July with no real relief ; actually things even got worse. I finally decided to see Dr. Jacqueline Tan, and the difference was night and day. She was assertive from the very first consultation which scared me a little at first but I am, in retrospect, deeply appreciative of it. What impressed me most was her thoroughness: she personally went through the imaging scan and called the radiologist to discuss the findings in depth before coming to a conclusion. While the eventual diagnosis of gout was hard to accept initially given my history, her treatment plan was spot on. After just two more follow-up visits and excellent work from her assigned physiotherapist. Also great thanks to the physio, she was super encouraging and stated clearly what to not do, and how to push the muscles towards recovery. I was on the path to recovery in a bit less than a month - something months and countless previous hospital visits failed to do. I am deeply appreciative of Dr. Jacqueline Tan - she is very encouraging and can explain things in perspective for a layman like me with no medical knowledge to digest. She focused entirely on identifying the root cause and curing me in the shortest time possible. She genuinely puts the patient first and is really knowledgeable. Highly recommended! :D
