About First Language Student Care

About "First Language Student Care"

First Language Student Care is a student care provider operating islandwide across Singapore, listed on KakiList as a verified and ACRA-registered business. It carries a Google rating of 4.9 out of 5, though this is based on 15 reviews and should be treated as directional rather than conclusive. Monthly fees are priced at the mid-range tier ($$).

Families considering student care should begin by enquiring about slot availability for their child's intended start month, as spaces — particularly for lower primary levels — can fill up quickly. When you make contact, ask about the daily routine, homework supervision approach, staff-to-child ratio, and any enrichment or reading programmes offered. It is worth arranging a centre visit to meet the staff and see the environment firsthand before committing. Parents of Singapore citizen children should also enquire about ECDA subsidies, which can meaningfully reduce out-of-pocket monthly costs depending on household income and the mother's working hours.

To take the next step, reach out to First Language Student Care via phone or the enquiry form on their listing to ask about current availability for your child's level and preferred start date, and to arrange a visit to the centre.

Was sent over my son to the centre. He is always excited and interested to go to student care. My son always telling about the food that they have served as he is like to eat much. The Teachers also fetch my kid after his school and bring him back to the centre safely. Even they are operating and taking a good care during a school holiday as well. The Teachers are very kind and warmed hearted. Always encourage my son on his activity. Thanks to all the Teachers in the centre.

My daughter has been going to this student care for the past 1 year. She has adjusted quite fast in this centre. She is always excited and looking forward to go to student care. The teachers pick the students from the school, during the shool holidays and Home based learning the student care is open from morning and we can drop at student care without much fuss and additional charges. My daughter is quite choosy about food and she adjusted quite well.

Chanced upon this seemingly low profile First Language Student Care Center at Block 123, Kim Tian Road. The sign board looks ordinary and there are not many reviews on Google. Decided to send my child there for a change and I was impressed by the service and the care standard they provide for the kids! Healthy and nutritious food is freshly cooked in the center everyday, my child who is a fussy eater is now looking forward to eating the food there! More importantly, the center teachers make sure that all students will have a balanced study and play regime. The teachers are friendly and responsible. I hope my child will make some academic progress over here. Thank you Mdm Sulo and all teachers (teacher Ivy, teacher Jennifer and teacher Susan) for the wonderful care for all the kids! Well done and please keep up!

We were looking for a student care centre which we wanted to have it outside Zhangde and we had chanced upon First Language Student Care Centre when we first enrolled our son in Zhangde Primary school 4 years ago. One of the teachers had approached us outside the school gate when we had finished the school orientation. We went to visit the centre and we are happy with the conducive environment, and most importantly, the kids are served with meals which are cooked daily. The location is also a short walking distance from zhangde primary school, around 8mins walk and the teachers take the responsibility to pick up the kids in front of Zhangde's General office to the student care centre daily. Teachers from time to time will also encourage and give small rewards treat to the kids which make them very happy. During the school holidays, the centre also came up with acitvities for the kids to learn, such as frying an omelette, baking cookies with a freelance home baker in the centre. Thank you First Language Student Care Centre.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does "First Language Student Care" charge per month?

First Language Student Care is priced at the mid-range tier ($$) on a monthly recurring basis. Student care fees in Singapore generally range from around S$300 to S$700 per month depending on the level of care, operating hours, and whether school holiday programmes are included. When enquiring, ask whether there is a one-time registration fee, a refundable deposit (typically equivalent to one or two months' fees), and whether costs such as uniforms or personal accident insurance are included or billed separately. Childcare and student care fees in Singapore are GST-exempt, so you should not be charged GST on the monthly fee itself. Contact First Language Student Care directly for their current fee schedule, as rates can vary by school term and programme. See the full childcare cost guide for Singapore →

What subsidies can I claim at "First Language Student Care"?

Singapore citizen children enrolled in an ECDA-licensed student care centre may be eligible for the MOE Student Care Fee Assistance (SCFA) scheme, which is means-tested and based on gross monthly household income. Subsidies can reduce fees substantially for qualifying families, and the exact quantum is tiered according to income brackets. Permanent resident children may be eligible for partial assistance under certain schemes, though at lower rates than citizens. Subsidy amounts and eligibility criteria are updated periodically, so it is important to check directly with ECDA or the MOE website for the most current figures before making enrolment decisions. Note that First Language Student Care does not currently list an ECDA licence on their KakiList profile. Confirm with the centre directly whether they are an ECDA-licensed operator, as subsidy eligibility depends on this. If they are not licensed, government subsidies will not apply.

Is there a waitlist at "First Language Student Care"?

Student care centres in Singapore, particularly those located near popular primary schools, can fill up quickly. For Primary 1 intake starting in January, it is advisable to enquire at least three to six months in advance — some centres have waiting lists that extend even further, especially for lower primary levels where demand is highest. To secure a place, most centres will ask for a registration fee and a deposit once a slot is confirmed. Peak intake periods are January and July, aligned with the school academic calendar. If you are planning ahead for the following year, contacting the centre in the third or fourth quarter of the current year is a sensible approach. Reach out to First Language Student Care directly via phone or their enquiry form to check current availability for your child's level and intended start date.
