Taimaobi, the Chinese tradition of crafting a keepsake brush from a newborn's first hair, is a meaningful full-month or 100-day milestone gift. To enquire, reach Huaxia Taimaobi Centre by phone or through the website form with your baby's date of birth, the occasion (full-month, 100-day, or later), and your preferred package scope. Discuss design options — brush style, handle material, engraving, and presentation box — as well as turnaround time, islandwide delivery or in-person collection at the KKH location, and whether a deposit is required on ordering.
To take the next step, contact Huaxia Taimaobi Centre directly by phone or form with your baby's birth date and the occasion to confirm current package availability and lead time.
Lock in the date with a written contract and deposit, confirm the public liability insurance and any HDB / condo / hotel venue paperwork, and put the deliverables, balance schedule, and rescheduling policy in writing.
I was very shock at the attitude of the shop attendant lady. As a customer, I am just asking a few relevant questions for clarification but her reply back was pretty rude and loud and giving a black face. I am completely aghast. It was like the 1st question. As if I have owe her millions of dollars before. I thought I am just unlucky that she had a bad day, but when i came here and saw these reviews, man, i am not the only one experiencing her bad attitude and extremely poor customer service. Please change your staff, 4 years ago with my 1st born, we engaged your service too at KKH branch and the receptionist was a complete opposite from this one.
One of the reception customer service was very bad. We asked about the baby name service for the first time, but the overall consultation was very tight and impatient. Owe did not have many consultation questions, but the attitude is very bad after a few enquirer is. Very bad experience, will consider whether or not to need their services.
I've obtained Master Fu services in early July. For basic package, customer can expect 10 names provided by the company with no explanation, elaborations nor assurances on the quality of the naming. Each explanation comes at an additional cost which can be added on after the 10 names were given. Staff may need additional training in dealing with customers. For example, staff could learn to drop sarcasm when customer was seeking clarification. Overall, service was too corporatised and lacked personal touch. Probably more suited for customers who need the convenience of a naming centre.
Read this before visiting. Utterly disappointed with their sarcastic service. My wife and I visited this outlet yesterday and was attended by Gracee. Gracee started off all nice and friendly and requested us to write the name of our baby onto her invoice. Not thinking too much about it at that time, we wrote the name down. Only after writing the baby's name onto the invoice, then Gracee started to share what are the available packages and pricing. As it's our 1st time visiting Taimaobi, we aren't familiar with the options and pricing of the products hence we wanted to really understand our options available. Hence, after listening to what Gracee had shared with us, we requested to let us go back and think about it first and we can come back again 3 weeks later (my baby's next follow-up appointment at KKH). At this point in time, this is where Gracee's sales pressuring tactics started to show. She shared with us that she had already opened the invoice and it's very troublesome to void it and suggested to put the invoice on hold and then within the next few days she can come to our home to meet us and close up the invoice again. (I strongly do not believe that you can't void an invoice, especially one that is written with pen and paper) We were not comfortable with that and told her we will need more time to consider. Upon hearing this, Gracee became really unprofessional. Her attitude, tone of voice, facial expression all turned aggressive. She spoke in sarcasm which is really uncalled for. She said she thought we wanted to make order hence she opened and invoice and now we say we want to consider. And in a rude manner, she said you all can go back think and if you want than call me again. We were looking at each other and thought she will give us a namecard or something. But instead she point to the invoice and she said this:" You all got handphone right, use your camera take a photo of my number." Before we left, she even added another comment. Saying that you all better take a photo of the different words that you can engrave on the maobi so when I go up your house, you won't tell me you need time to consider again. Based on this ridiculous experience, who in the right mind will patronize you again? We honestly wanted to think about it, and yet you reacted in such a unprofessional manner. All I can say is good luck in "pressuring" all your potential customers into quickly deciding and paying for this kind of nonsense service and attitude.
Walked by their outlet in KKH a few times. Was quite skeptical to use their service after looking through the reviews, but thankfully Im one who like to try out first before judging. Went for their Advanced Naming service. Was contacted by Monica. They are no longer at KKH by the way Everything was straight forward and smooth. Pay, get the names, choose. They send you the names through Whatsapp or email. You choose, and once confirmed, they send you the name details. Went to 13 Braddell Tech, to collect the name detail booklet. They do have mailing option. Im just too eager to get a hold of the 2 books. Oh yes, they gave $18 discount if your baby is born in KKH with another additional $20 voucher applied, even though I didnt ask. Thought discount and voucher will be given only if I use the service in KKH. 😅 Thank you, Monica. And thats about it. Once again, Thank you so much, Monica and Master Fu Qian Loong for both your valuable time. Appreciated.

Pricing is package-based and typically varies by brush size, handle material (natural wood, jade, lacquer, or engraved options), and presentation box tier. Singapore market norms for baby full-month and 100-day keepsake packages range from around S$80 for entry-level brush sets to S$300–600+ for premium framed or engraved commemorative pieces. Confirm what each tier includes — brush crafting, engraving or personalisation, gift box or display case, and any accompanying calligraphy scroll or certificate. Ask whether delivery islandwide is included or billed separately, and confirm whether GST applies. See the full Baby Celebrations cost guide for Singapore →
For a full-month celebration (28–30 days after birth), the window for ordering is tight — ideally place the order as soon as possible after delivery, or even before the due date if you know you want a taimaobi keepsake. Hair needs to be collected at the first haircut, so timing matters. For 100-day milestones you have more flexibility, but popular finishing options and engraving slots can still fill up, so 3–4 weeks ahead is a sensible minimum. Confirm the current turnaround time directly when you call or submit the form, as lead times can vary with demand. The KKH location is convenient for families who are already at the hospital postnatally.
Singapore industry standard for bespoke keepsake orders is a deposit on confirmation — typically 30–50% — to secure the slot and cover materials. The balance is usually due on collection or before delivery. Because the brush is crafted from your baby's own hair, the order is personalised and non-transferable once production begins, so deposits are generally non-refundable after the hair has been submitted. Confirm in writing what the deposit covers (date hold, materials, engraving), what is refundable if you cancel before submitting the hair, and the rescheduling policy if your delivery date shifts unexpectedly. Ask for a written confirmation of the order scope, design specifications, and delivery timeline before paying.
