About Ling Kwang Home

About Ling Kwang Home

Ling Kwang Home is a senior daycare provider based at Serangoon Garden Way, serving families across Singapore. The centre is verified by KakiList and registered with ACRA. It holds a 4.5-star rating across 23 Google reviews, a moderate sample that suggests general satisfaction amongst families who have used the service. No regulatory licences are listed in the current submission, so families should confirm registration status with the relevant authorities before proceeding.

Families typically begin by calling or submitting an enquiry form to discuss a senior's care requirements, including mobility level, medical conditions, and any dementia-related needs. A care assessment helps determine whether the daycare programme's hours, staffing, and therapeutic activities are a suitable fit. It is worth asking about the staff-to-participant ratio, daily activity schedule, transport arrangements to and from the centre, and the process for managing medical incidents during the day. Families with multiple decision-makers — including siblings and caregiving spouses — may find it helpful to visit together.

Contact Ling Kwang Home directly by phone or through the enquiry form on their listing to arrange a visit and discuss a trial period before making a longer-term commitment.

Ling Kwang Home for Senior Citizens (LKHSC) located at 156 Serangoon Garden Way has been around for many years and is well-known in the community. It started with a strong foundation of Christian values, and over time, it has grown into a trusted place that provides care and support for the elderly. The home may not be the newest or flashiest but there’s something very genuine about it. You can tell the staff do their best to care for the residents and the environment is generally peaceful and calm. It’s also heartwarming to see family members visiting regularly, bringing comfort and joy to their loved ones. The location is quite central and accessible, and many long-time residents in the Serangoon area are familiar with the home. It holds a special place in the neighborhood as one of the earlier established eldercare facilities in Singapore. Overall, LKHSC continues to quietly serve with dedication, and it’s nice to see that tradition of care still going strong today.

My late father stayed at Ling Kwang Home for over 10 years until his passing in November 2020. It took me a while to write this review, but I’ve always wanted to express my heartfelt thanks. The nurses at Level 2, Main Block, cared for my father with great attentiveness and compassion. I can't remember their names, but I deeply appreciate their dedication and kindness. Caring for so many elderly residents is no easy task, yet they made a real effort to treat each one with respect and warmth. I’d also like to thank Ms. Adeline Liang, the social worker who patiently assisted me in applying for financial subsidies when I was going through a difficult time. Her support truly made a difference. Ling Kwang Home has been a blessing to our family, and I am sincerely grateful to all the staff who played a part in my father’s care.

My grandmother stayed at Ling Kwang Home for 3 months before she passed, and we are deeply grateful for the care she received. The nurses at level 4 were attentive, compassionate, and truly cared for her well-being, which brought our family great comfort. The social worker was also very supportive and guided us through the entire process with care and understanding.

I really didn’t want to leave a bad review, but after nearly two months of chasing for my late mother’s refundable deposit, I’ve had enough! After my mother’s passing at Ling Kwang Home, I was told by the finance officer, Alvin, that I should receive the refund around end January. Since early January this year, I have followed up multiple times via the contactus mailbox and directly with the finance officer, but there has been no prompt follow-up or resolution. This kind of delay and lack of accountability is unacceptable, especially when dealing with families who have already gone through emotional loss. If they are this slow in processing a simple refund, I really question their efficiency in handling other important matters. Additionally, the nursing home is currently under renovation, which could mean construction noise, temporarily shifting beds out of wards - something to consider if you’re planning to send your elderly loved ones here. There are also things which i do not wish to mention here. For example: If you dig deeper into their 5 star google reviews, it looks sus. Why are these reviewers giving 5 star reviews for multiple nursing homes?! Definitely wouldn’t recommend this place to my friends and relatives!!!

Approachable staff. Kind nurses. Clean facilities with hygienic toilets. They make nutritious meals for the residents every day. The place has a positive environment and the residents look happy to be living there. I would recommend Ling Kwang Home for those looking for elderly care.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Ling Kwang Home charge?

Ling Kwang Home is listed at a mid-range price point ($$), though specific daily or monthly fees are not published in the current listing. Senior daycare in Singapore typically runs from S$50 to S$120 per day depending on the level of care provided, with monthly packages ranging from S$1,000 to S$2,500 or more for full-day attendance. Families should ask about what is included — meals, transport, therapy sessions, and incontinence supplies are sometimes bundled and sometimes billed separately. Public holiday surcharges and ad hoc absence policies are also worth clarifying upfront. See the full eldercare cost guide for Singapore →

Live-in or visit-based — which does Ling Kwang Home offer?

Ling Kwang Home operates as a senior daycare centre, which means seniors attend during daytime hours and return home in the evening — it is not a live-in residential arrangement. This model suits families where a caregiver or family member is present overnight but needs daytime support and structured activities for the senior. Typical daycare hours run from around 8am to 6pm on weekdays, with some centres offering Saturday programmes. Families should confirm the operating hours, whether transport is provided to and from home, and what the process is if a senior needs to leave early due to health reasons. A short trial period — attending for a few days before committing to a monthly arrangement — is advisable to assess how well the senior settles into the programme.

Is the caregiver trained and insured?

Families should ask Ling Kwang Home directly about the qualifications of their care staff, including any formal training in eldercare, dementia support, or first aid. No regulatory licences are currently listed for this provider on KakiList, so it is important to verify independently whether the centre is registered with the Agency for Integrated Care (AIC) or the Ministry of Health (MOH), both of which are relevant for senior day activity centres in Singapore. Insurance coverage — both for care staff and for incidents involving participants — should also be confirmed before enrolment. Ask specifically how the centre handles medical emergencies during the day and whether there is a registered nurse or trained healthcare assistant on-site. Insist on a trial period and put the care plan, hours, and rate in writing.
