About My Childhood Place

About "My Childhood Place"

My Childhood Place is a student care provider operating islandwide from its centre at 178 Clemenceau Avenue, Har Par Glass Tower, Singapore 239926. The listing is KakiList verified and ACRA registered. It carries a Google rating of 4.6 out of 5, though this is based on 9 reviews and should be treated as directional rather than conclusive. Fees are priced at the mid-range tier on a monthly recurring basis.

Families exploring student care at My Childhood Place should begin by enquiring about available slots for their child's intended start month, as places can fill quickly, particularly at the start of each school year in January. During your initial enquiry, ask about the daily routine, homework supervision structure, staff-to-child ratios, and the settling-in arrangement. It is also worth confirming whether the centre is registered with ECDA, as this determines eligibility for government subsidies available to Singapore citizen children. Parents should plan a visit to the centre before committing, so they can meet the staff and assess the environment directly.

The most straightforward next step is to reach out to My Childhood Place via WhatsApp, phone, or the online enquiry form to check current vacancy for your child's school year level and to arrange a centre visit.

What reviewers say about My Childhood Place

Summary based on 9 Google reviews.

My Childhood Place operates a spacious, clean facility where teachers actively support academic completion and Chinese language improvement. Parents consistently praised Principal Juliana's prompt communication and responsiveness to concerns, with teachers providing photo updates and organizing school pickups. The center balances structured study time with play for lower primary students, though the cold temperature occasionally requires children to wear jackets.

Very spacious, clean and teachers are thoughtful. I chose this pace because they have enough time for study and play since my child is still lower primary, it’s more balanced to spend time after school. Only concern is the place is very cold but teacher will mention kids to wear jacket or drink warm water. I appreciate their communication with parents are very well too.

My Childhood Place was introduced to me after many afterschool care centre visits. While there are many premium centres, what sets them apart is their personalised care and a very involved principal to manage the place. You can voice your concerns and needs through Juliana, the principal, and she will promptly reply you. My child's Chinese wasn't that good but Juliana helped her improve by getting her to read the textbook (supervised) everyday. This helps a lot as I have an infant at home and won't be able to concentrate on guiding her with her school work and revisions. When she gets home, we just need to play with her and not think of school work. My Childhood Place also provides nutritious lunch, outdoor park time, and extra activities like art class or holiday programmes. My child really loves it and I would recommend the centre to everyone!

My daughter loves the center and we cannot recommend it enough. The center is clean and spacious and the teachers are caring and responsive. It has made the transition from kindergarten to primary school so much easier for both my child and us. Highly recommend it if you are looking for a student care in River Valley.

Initially was upset that the school inhouse student care rejected us but that brought us to MCP and we felt that is a much better choice. We love the big open space and bright environment. My son love attending student care so much that when we pass by on school closure days he will want to go up. They send teachers to pick the kids from the primary school and give us picture update for the first week so that we get peace of mind. Spelling and ting xie are tested and corrections are done in SC. No more vomiting of blood to try teach him ourselves. They will also help buy assessment books for him to do in SC as P1 and P2 not much homework. The teachers are attentive and noted my son is weaker than his peers in chinese and offered tuition (at additional cost). Interesting art classes are also available at additional cost. These are of course optional but save us so much time and effort to bring him ourselves on the weekends.

Great place to let your kids be at after school. School work would be completed and spelling and 听写prepared for the week. Teachers are quite affable and responsible. Principal of the centre is a kind and friendly lady who would do her best to help within reasonable means. Trustworthy.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does "My Childhood Place" charge per month?

My Childhood Place is priced at the mid-range tier on a monthly recurring fee structure. When enquiring, ask for a full written breakdown that includes the monthly programme fee, any one-time registration fee, the deposit amount (commonly equivalent to one to two months' fees), and any additional charges for uniforms or personal accident insurance. Childcare and student care fees in Singapore are GST-exempt, so the quoted monthly rate should be the amount you pay. Confirm whether any incidental charges such as activity fees or excursions are billed separately. See the full student care cost guide for Singapore →

What subsidies can I claim at "My Childhood Place"?

Subsidy eligibility for student care depends on whether the centre is an ECDA-registered, anchor, or partner operator. If My Childhood Place participates in the MOE Financial Assistance Scheme or ECDA's Student Care Fee Assistance (SCFA), eligible Singapore citizen children from lower- and middle-income households may receive means-tested subsidies that reduce monthly fees significantly. Singapore Permanent Resident children may qualify for partial assistance under certain schemes. Subsidy quantum and income thresholds are reviewed periodically, so it is important to check the current figures directly with ECDA or the centre before making financial plans. Contact My Childhood Place directly to confirm which subsidy schemes it is enrolled in and what documentation is required to apply.

Is there a waitlist at "My Childhood Place"?

Student care centres in Singapore, particularly those in convenient locations or with strong reputations, can have limited vacancy. It is advisable to enquire at least three to six months ahead of your intended start date. The peak intake period typically aligns with the start of the school year in January, so families planning for that period should begin enquiries well in advance. To register your interest and secure a slot, you will generally need to pay a registration fee and deposit. Contact My Childhood Place via WhatsApp, phone, or the online form to ask about current availability for your child's school level and to find out how their waitlist or registration process works.
