I had an extremely frustrating experience with Pertinent Law on the purchase of my HDB flat. As a first-time buyer, the process alone was stressful enough, but Pertinent's lack of professionalism added significantly to it. Mia Lim, whom I was liaising with, would take ages to respond (replying to me "shortly" meant weeks) and was uncontactable a few days before completion, which caused me undue panic. I only received the details needed for my cashier's order two working days before the completion date. This is after a few emails from me chasing them to follow up on these admin matters. That same day, I got multiple calls during my work day despite having explained that the nature of my work would not allow me to pick up calls. That was just how last minute it was. All of these could have been avoided with better time management, planning and communication. If the team is inundated with work and overwhelmed, it would have helped to set expectations earlier or to have these matters reassigned. Vivian Wan took over in the end. While she managed to complete the process, she was quick to remind me that she was only standing in temporarily and that I should redirect my future queries elsewhere. Overall, it was a highly disappointing experience. The level of service fell way below expectations. I would not recommend engaging this firm for your conveyancing needs at all.
