About Plain Vanilla Bakery
Plain Vanilla Bakery is a baby celebrations specialist operating islandwide from its Tiong Bahru location at 1D Yong Siak Street. It has been verified by KakiList and carries a 4.2/5 rating across 1,157 Google reviews — a robust sample that provides meaningful signal on consistency. Pricing is positioned in the mid-range ($$) on a package basis; specific package costs were not provided at time of listing and should be confirmed directly.
For baby full-month, 100-day, or baby shower bookings, the typical starting point is to reach out via WhatsApp, phone, or the enquiry form with your event date, expected guest count, and any theme or dietary requirements (including halal alternatives for mixed-faith guest lists). Package versus à la carte options, customisation for red eggs and ang ku kueh-inspired designs, and lead time for bespoke cake decorations should all be confirmed at the initial enquiry. A deposit is standard on signing to secure your date, with the balance settled closer to the event. For popular weekend dates, especially during peak gifting months, book six to twelve weeks ahead to avoid disappointment.
Contact Plain Vanilla Bakery via WhatsApp, phone, or the online form to check availability for your event date and request a package breakdown.
Lock in the date with a written contract and deposit, confirm the public liability insurance and any HDB / condo / hotel venue paperwork, and put the deliverables, balance schedule, and rescheduling policy in writing.
Nice alfresco pet-friendly area with a sizeable number of of seats available. This is in addition to the huge indoor air-conditioned space within which is only human friendly. We enjoyed the ham and cheese tart and cinnamon sugar cupcake. The pastry for the tart was the right balance of crisp and softness while the cinnamon icing tasted like Christmas. The drinks, however, tasted diluted to me and nowhere near a quality cup of chai or mocha respectively. Will return for the deli!
Had a wonderful breakfast here! Got the goat cheese, mushroom, and leek tart, which was fantastic! My partner had the scrambled eggs on toast said they were the best eggs I’ve ever had. We loved the drinks as well! Great atmosphere
Very pleasant atmosphere with aircon or non aircon seatings. Stepping into the cafe, on the right with shelves of souvenirs and handicrafts. QR code menu on each table that has lists of coffee, non-coffee, freshly-baked confectionery, etc. Further into the cafe is another vibe with nice and peaceful decorations. Known for its muffin, a selection of sweet treats available. For meal, had the rosti with smoke salmon. Far from the best I had but not any near to average. Worth the try though. Ice matcha latte not too sweet and strong matcha taste. Ice americano not too bad too. A very nice indeed for all day or coffee breaks.
Plain Vanilla in Tiong Bahru has a chill vibe. We dined indoor and stayed for quite some time. The staff were all accomodating and nice. The foods we ordered are delicious.
Decent coffee and food (esp loved the pb&j sourdough toast) but poor service, was ordering then didn’t realise we had to pick a table first and in the 10 seconds that i turned to see which table is empty she took the next person’s giant order having me just standing and waiting for >5 mins

Plain Vanilla Bakery prices baby celebration packages at a mid-range ($$) tier, though specific package figures were not published at the time of this listing. For context, baby full-month and 100-day celebration packages from specialist bakers in Singapore typically run S$300–2,000 depending on the scope — covering a celebration cake, customised packaging, and any add-on party favours or dessert tables. When you enquire, confirm the full cost picture: the base package price, any surcharge for bespoke cake designs or personalised messaging, delivery fee for islandwide drop-off, and the deposit and balance payment schedule. Ask whether GST is included or added on top. See the full baby celebrations cost guide for Singapore →
For baby full-month and 100-day celebrations, six to twelve weeks ahead is a sensible lead time — in-demand bakers and celebration specialists book out quickly, particularly for weekend slots and during the December and Chinese New Year gifting peaks. Confirm whether the event date is held firm once the deposit is paid, and ask about the wet-weather or last-minute contingency policy if any portion of your order involves delivery. For highly customised cakes or large orders, even longer lead time may be needed to allow for design consultations and tasting confirmations.
The Singapore industry standard for celebration packages is a deposit of 30–50% on signing to secure the date and begin any custom design work, with the balance due one to two weeks before the event. Confirm in writing what the deposit covers — date hold, design consultation hours, and any bespoke elements — and what is refundable if you need to cancel or reschedule. Deposits are typically non-refundable but may be transferable to a new date. Ask about the rescheduling policy explicitly, particularly if your baby's due date shifts the event window. Public liability insurance is worth confirming for orders involving venue setup or delivery to HDB void decks or condo function rooms where the venue may have requirements. Lock in deliverables, the balance schedule, and the rescheduling terms in writing before paying.
