Families enquiring about enrolment would typically start by confirming whether the available class levels and syllabus align with their child's current experience and age group. Singapore Ballet offers ballet tuition, and prospective students are encouraged to ask about group class sizes, the teaching approach, and whether a trial class is available before committing to a full term. It is also worth clarifying whether classes are structured around recognised syllabi such as Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) or Cecchetti, as this affects progression pathways and examination eligibility. The Bugis+ location is accessible by MRT via Bugis station.
To take the next step, contact Singapore Ballet via WhatsApp, phone, or the online enquiry form to ask about current class schedules, appropriate level placement for your child, and trial class availability.
Take the trial class and confirm the tutor's actual credentials before committing to a term.
Class sizes are generally large (around 30–40 participants), which limits opportunities for individual feedback and corrections. Most instructors are either company-affiliated or retired professionals. Of those I’ve encountered, only a few have created a supportive and constructive learning environment. Rosa Park (who was temporarily substituting) and Ivan (currently substituting) stood out for their attentiveness, offering personalised corrections and adapting exercises when needed. This greatly enhances the learning experience. As the class rates are significantly lower than those of typical adult studios, the range in student ability and maturity is understandably broader. While this is not an issue in itself, I have occasionally observed younger students, typically teenagers or those in university, offering unsolicited corrections to others (adults) during class, even while the instructor is still present. This reflects a lack of emotional intelligence and classroom awareness, and can come across as presumptuous, especially since they are fellow students, not qualified teachers. While such behaviour is not the fault of SB, it may be beneficial to establish a clear guideline that corrections should only be given by instructors. This would help maintain a respectful and focused environment where all students can feel safe to learn and grow.
Hi , it's a great place to learn ballet for those who has no ballet background n it's affordable fee as well....also better wear leotard n tight for class for ladies especially since you are new as the ballet instructor will need to see your movements n steps to correct you easily....I have learned ballet before so I knew about it.....just go n try n see if you like it as well....Singapore Ballet is my 1st choice to learn ballet....as the school specialise in ballet especially n they have the beginner 1 for adult that I can learn for long term to build the foundation....
Agreed that it is not possible for complete beginners to pick up any skill from open classes without fixed syllabus work and personal feedback. Class size varies depending on the day of class. I wasted two years of my time and money trying to learn from adult classes. I wish there was more honesty and acknowledgment from the dance company that this school is not suited for complete beginners with no ballet background. It would have saved me and some others I know alot of years.
The beginners one class was a good introduction to ballet. However, beyond that this studio is not suitable for complete beginners with no dance background. There is limited to none feedback given, due to the large class size. It was difficult to progress further in terms of technique. If, however, you already have dance instruction elsewhere and want an additional class to learn more combinations, or have ballet background then this school will be suitable for you. All in all, it was still an experience being taught by professionals.
1st time with daughter for her intensive ballet course. Good experience.

Specific session fees, monthly packages, and term rates for Singapore Ballet were not published at the time of this listing, so it is best to contact the school directly for a current fee schedule. As a general guide, dance class fees in Singapore typically range from S$30–80 per session for group classes, with term-based packages often offering a lower effective per-session cost than casual enrolment. Ask whether there is a registration or enrolment fee, whether costume or examination fees apply separately, and whether sibling discounts or multi-class packages are available. Some schools charge a materials or uniform fee at the start of term. See the full dance schools cost guide for Singapore →
Many dance schools in Singapore offer a trial class, sometimes at a reduced rate or free of charge, before asking families to commit to a full term. It is worth asking Singapore Ballet directly whether this is available, as policies vary by school and by class level. A trial class is a useful opportunity to assess whether the teaching style suits your child, whether the level is appropriate for their current ability, and whether your child feels comfortable and engaged in the environment. Observe how the teacher manages the class and communicates with younger students, as these are often better indicators of fit than a prospectus alone. Contact Singapore Ballet via WhatsApp, phone, or the enquiry form to ask about trial class availability and what to expect on the day.
Instructor credentials were not listed in the available provider data for Singapore Ballet. When enquiring, it is reasonable to ask about each teacher's professional training background, performance experience, and any examining body qualifications they hold — such as RAD (Royal Academy of Dance) or Cecchetti teaching diplomas, which are widely recognised in classical ballet education. For children preparing for graded examinations, it is particularly important to confirm that the instructor is an approved or registered teacher with the relevant examining body, as this determines whether examination entries can be submitted under that teacher. If credentials are not displayed on the school's website, ask directly before committing to a term.
