We’ve had a very positive experience with StarLearners. Teacher Ratna is excellent — she has strong early childhood knowledge and is able to spot and address learning gaps early, not just academically but also in social, literacy and psychomotor development. She has a good rapport with parents and is always open to helping us reinforce our child’s learning at home. Her passion shows in how engaged she is with the children, and our daughter genuinely enjoys being in her care. The curriculum is well balanced, the school is clean, and the recently renovated toilets offer better privacy. The school app is useful for attendance, updates and daily activities. We also appreciate the effort to engage parents, such as inviting parents to share about their jobs or read stories. Highly recommended.

My son looooooves to go to school since he started at SL Boon Keng. His teachers are very nurturing and patient and teaches the necessary life skills for them to regulate emotions. I especially love teacher Ratna for her dedication and expertise. I also love how they have a lot of outdoor time and enrichment classes in the afternoon. My son enjoys them all! They also organize a lot of learning journeys. They are prompt to reply on WhatsApp and very receptive to feedback. I’d recommend SL Boon Keng to anyone looking for a preschool around this area.

My son Xingran has been attending Star Learners @ Boon Keng since his N1 days, and over the past two years, his growth has been nothing short of amazing. What impresses us most is the remarkable boost in his confidence—he now initiates conversations, expresses his ideas freely, and has truly learned the meaning of sharing. He absolutely loves his teachers and classmates, and the school’s varied teaching approaches have made learning a genuine joy for him. Had all my three kids in this school and has no complains at all. The teachers esp Teacher Marife and Teacher Ratna is definitely my kids’ fav. Can feel they really love the kids. And not missing out Miss Chia, not only she is the principal of the school but she also helps out around. Thanks to team Boon Keng, my kids has great English foundation taught. :)

Star Learners @ Boon Keng We have seen so many positive changes in our 4 year old son since he joined the N2 class this year. He now enjoys going to school every day. The teachers have made a real effort to mix the children into different groups and encourage them to communicate and engage more. We can clearly see how much this approach has helped our son. Teacher Ratna has been wonderful. She understands the children so well and knows how to connect with each of them in her own way. She often introduces fresh and imaginative activities in class that help the children express themselves and build confidence. She observes them carefully and shares very helpful feedback on their strengths and areas for improvement, which has really helped us support him at home. Shi Lao Shi, the Mandarin teacher, is also amazing. She teaches in an engaging way, and her constructive feedback has been very useful for us as parents. She also guides and disciplines the children positively, which we truly appreciate. We would also like to recognise Ms. Chia, the principal. She understood the needs of the class and chose the right teachers for the N2 level. We are thankful for her thoughtfulness and leadership. Beyond academics, we truly appreciate how the school emphasises the overall development of the children - socially, emotionally, and creatively. The school also plans wonderful excursions that give the children real-world experiences. Our son especially enjoyed the fishing trip, which was such a unique and memorable activity for him. The museum visits and outdoor excursions have also given him opportunities to explore, observe, and learn in a hands-on way. Overall, we are happy with the progress we see in our son. A big thank you to the teachers and Ms. Chia for creating such a positive and caring environment for the children.

What subsidies can I claim at Star Learners?›

Singapore citizen children enrolled in a licensed infant care or childcare centre may be eligible for the Basic Subsidy — up to S$600 per month for infant care and up to S$300 per month for childcare — regardless of household income. Working mothers who clock 56 or more hours of work per month may additionally qualify for the Working Mother's Child Development Subsidy (WMS), and lower-income families may receive the Additional Subsidy, which can bring total combined support to up to S$710 per month. Permanent Resident children are eligible for partial subsidies at lower quantum levels.
