It carries a Google rating of 4.8 out of 5 across 125 reviews, which is a robust sample and provides a reliable signal of consistent quality. Pricing is indicated at the mid-range tier ($$), though specific per-session or monthly fees are not publicly listed and should be confirmed directly with the studio.
For families enquiring about enrolment, the typical first step is to contact the studio by phone or via the online enquiry form to discuss your child's age, experience level, and the dance style you have in mind. From there, you can ask about syllabus fit, whether classes are structured for beginners or follow a graded examination pathway, and whether group or individual formats are available. It is worth confirming term commitment expectations upfront, as some dance schools require enrolment by the term rather than on a rolling monthly basis. Class sizes, the instructor's background, and timetabling options are all practical points to raise before committing.
To take the next step, reach out to Step Forward Dance Studio by phone or via the contact form on their listing to ask about current availability, pricing, and whether a trial class can be arranged before you commit to a term.
Take the trial class and confirm the tutor's actual credentials before committing to a term.
If you're an absolute beginner in dance, are trying to find a studio to start at with a good wholesome dance community, here's the place to go! I've been dancing here for nearly 2 years and I'm so grateful for everything I've experienced here. The instructors here are always patient and kind to break down the steps especially those that can be challenging for beginners. They are really encouraging as well especially whenever we're all so nervous when we have to take videos. And I'm grateful to the friends I made here too where we grow and inspire each other. Thank you STEP studio!
I’m so grateful for STEP Studio! I started out just attending open classes not long ago and never imagined I’d one day be part of their 11th-year anniversary recital, The Last Letter. As a foreigner, I was honestly nervous at first but STEP made me feel so seen, encouraged, and supported. It’s such a safe space where everyone is welcomed with warmth and respect. The choreographers and community here truly care about your growth. STEP isn’t just a dance studio — it’s a family that helps you grow not only as a dancer but also as a person. 🫶 Kudos to the owners, Step & Deo! 🙏
A safe space, a very welcoming and encouraging environment that welcomes dancers of all levels of experience, from different sorts of background, and from all walks of life to come together and move. For those who are just starting out, I would say this studio is the best place to take your baby steps in dance! Dance classes are affordable and come in a range of styles offered to suit different interests - from Street Jazz, to Contemporary to Open Choreography. Training programmes are available for dancers who want to train regularly and perform for events. All three studios are well-equipped with good sound system and flooring and provide a conducive environment for dancers to dance comfortably. Conveniently located near Mountbatten MRT and some bus stops.
My first time at Step Studio today, really enjoyed myself – the instructor was really warm and patient and I had lots of fun. Would def recommend!
A very welcoming dance studio!! Good amenities and talented instructors but not intimidating at all, just warm friendly vibes (great culture led by Mama Step). Love the street jazz intro and intermediate courses I've taken, and of course the open classes too (shoutot to instructor Bokki)!! I've gained so much more than technical skills. Also I've honestly cried sitting outside the studio watching students in other classes dancing HAHAHA lots of emotions seeing how people from different walks of life come together for the same passion; I would be really keen to try out contemporary and hip-hop in the future too if opportunity allows!! Short walk from Mountbatten MRT~

Step Forward Dance Studio has not published a specific per-session rate, so you will need to enquire directly for current pricing. In Singapore, dance classes typically range from S$30–80 per session for group classes, with higher rates for one-to-one instruction. Studios commonly offer monthly or per-term packages that work out to a lower effective rate than pay-per-session arrangements. Ask whether there is a registration or enrolment fee, and whether materials such as examination entry fees or costumes are charged separately. Sibling discounts and multi-class package rates are worth asking about too. See the full Dance Schools cost guide for Singapore →
Many dance studios in Singapore offer a trial class, either at a reduced fee or as part of the enrolment process, so it is worth asking Step Forward Dance Studio directly whether this is available. A trial gives you the opportunity to see how the instructor manages the class, whether the level is appropriate for your child, and whether the teaching style suits how your child learns. During the trial, observe how the instructor gives feedback, how engaged the students are, and whether the class size allows for individual attention. These practical observations will tell you more than marketing materials alone. If a formal trial class is not offered, ask whether you can observe a session before signing up for a term.
Credential information for the instructors at Step Forward Dance Studio is not publicly listed, so it is recommended that you ask directly when you make contact. Relevant qualifications to look for in dance education include graded examination accreditation from bodies such as the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) or the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD), as well as relevant degree or diploma-level training in dance or performing arts. For children following a structured examination pathway, it is particularly important to confirm that the instructor is an approved teacher under the relevant grading body. Years of teaching experience and any specialisation — for example, ballet, jazz, hip-hop, or contemporary — are also useful to ask about. If this information is not readily provided, treat that as a prompt to ask further before committing to a term.
