Dr Adrian Liew is the best nephrologist you can find in Singapore. He works with the best team of doctors for Kidney Transplant. He takes extreme care for his patients’ progress and development. He is such a busy doc because of the details he pays attention to for every patient , leaving no room for error , which is very important for every transplant patient. I really salute him on how he manages his time and yet is able to maintain such high success rates and quality. He personally looks into every detail which I have never seen any other doctor do when they delegate to other nurses. He knows one wrong step will jeopardise the entire process. He also takes the time to explain why he is doing certain things and he calms me when I fear the unknown. He is a no nonsense guy so it takes some getting used to. He will recommend the best solution for you and all you have to do is just follow.

One of the best in the world. Very transparent and experienced nephrologist. Over the years, Dr Adrian has become a friend, and the staff in the clinic Ms Nancy and Mr Liew are very friendly and meticulous in their work. Dr Adrian makes careful suggestions to my lifestyle to manage my renal journey and I always feel I am in good hands. ++bonus perk - he is quite handsome.

Dr Adrian Liew at The Kidney & Transplant Practice displayed the worst attitude I have ever seen. He talked in a condescending manner, thinking (mistakenly) he had all the answers, when in fact he did not. When probed further about a certain medical point, he was unable or refused to answer. Occasionally he asked questions which were simply irrelevant (e.g., my occupation) and then charged me at the top range of consultation fees. He is unprofessional and narrow-minded, being unable to even consider new ideas. Medical knowledge advances so quickly that many doctors have a hard time keeping up with. They shouldn't never think they are "God".

I have had five consultation sessions with Dr. Adrian Liew over the past three months. I consulted Dr. Liew at the recommendation of my primary specialist - to monitor possible kidney-related issues arising from another condition. Dr. Liew initially came across as a no-nonsense straight talker (who was somewhat intimidating). I have since learnt that he is an amazing doctor, and I will outline three key reasons on what sets him apart: 1. Dr. Liew makes it very easy for a layperson (like myself) to understand one's specific condition(s). For example, Dr. Liew is excellent at breaking down medical jargon and terms, making it very easy to understand. During consultations, he summarises complex situations/concepts into simple, clear and effective 2-3 sentences. This is useful for a layperson (like myself) who tends to get confused with (and overwhelmed by) the massive amount of medical info (and sometimes mis-information) from various sources especially on the web. 2. Possessing a wealth of knowledge, Dr. Liew makes the effort to explain one's situation/condition in relation to other organs or other body systems (e.g. how the kidney interacts with blood). Sometimes when we zoom into outlier markers, we tend to forget that our body works as a connected system. So this "interdisciplinary" perspective is something I truly appreciate, since in my situation, multiple body systems/organs need to be monitored. 3. Lastly, I appreciate Dr. Liew's kindness displayed through his constant encouragement at every consultation - that I remain optimistic and to achieve normalcy in my day-to-day. Mental wellness/well-being is something that we might take for granted in a fast-paced environment, but Dr. Liew's consistency leaves quite an impression - and impetus that I balance my time well as I go through the treatment journey.
