There are still a few old-school confectionery and bakery shops around, but Thiam Yian confectionery really caught my eye as I was walking past. I decided to drop in and check out their products, and I found them quite different from those at other bakeries. I bought two types of pastries (old school egg based pastry and old school folded bread) to try and was very pleased with both the taste and freshness. Prices are cheap and reasonable too. Will try their delicious looking old school cake slices next round. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area!

Found them in grab mart. Tried for the first time and their old school cream cakes like the blueberry and strawberry cream are so good. The butter banana cake is also so soft.
