Families typically begin by reaching out via WhatsApp, phone, or the online enquiry form to discuss the student's level, subject, and syllabus requirements — whether MOE, IB, IGCSE, or another curriculum. From there, it is worth clarifying whether tuition is offered in a group setting or as one-to-one sessions, whether a trial class is available before committing to a term, and whether lessons are conducted in person at the Jurong East centre or online. Confirming the tutor's academic background and familiarity with the relevant examination board upfront will help ensure a good match.
To take the next step, send a WhatsApp message or submit the enquiry form with your child's school level, subject, and preferred schedule. Ask specifically about trial class availability and the tutor's credentials before agreeing to a term commitment.
Take the trial class and confirm the tutor's actual credentials before committing to a term.
I reached out to a few agencies, and Esther from Tutornow was the first to get back to me. She was responsive and professional, and I found that her tutors were more experienced while still offering competitive rates. We are very happy with the tutor we’re matched with. He managed the kids extremely well, even when they became distracted, and was able to gently guide them back to the lesson. His calm approach and clear explanations helped keep the children engaged and learning confidently.
No Star – Very Unprofessional Very disappointing experience with this tutor. (Wendy L) She also by passed the tuition centre to self earn our tuition fees cost $150. She was always late and did not even bother to inform. When we politely asked her to at least let us know if she would be late, she later told my children that we are “very particular”. This is completely unacceptable. Children should never be dragged into adult matters. A tutor should behave professionally and show basic respect. Instead, she complained about parents to the children, nagged frequently, and showed no sense of punctuality. When we messaged her to check on availability, she often ignored or did not respond. But when someone did not reply to her quickly, she would complain. The double standard is very clear. Overall, poor communication, no punctuality, and lack of professionalism. I would not recommend her.
First time I met such passionate tuition coordinator Esther who is fast to reply and even update me on tutor status whether good or not. She found Mr Alan for my boy who has slight focus issues. As commented by my boy after first lesson, "Mr Alan is patient and nice and he even used studying strategy like highlighting making the summary "popped" up which makes it easier for less focused children to absord. Thank you Esther!
Very rare to have tutors who can teach well and who really cares about student and wants to inspire them! Hope they continue to push Joash grades up! So far the tutors u recommend for Joash are quite good so far 1) Alice Pang 2) Wei Lao Shi 3) Calvin Thanks for the recommendation. Also want to commend Esther for her insanely fast instant response always, and her efficiency! Even though I msg her at 11pm at one time, she still replied promptly and took every task seriously and try to match tutor to profile as best as possible! Thank you! Will recommend my friends if they need tutor 🙂
Tutor Ms Aliana did really well in engaging with my son, who's usually very shy with new people. My son enjoyed the activities. He's looking forward to the weekly lessons. Thank you to Ms Esther as well for her help in finding the right tutor for my son. 😁

Top Tutor Now has not published a specific per-session rate, so you will need to enquire directly for a current quote. In the Singapore private tuition market, group sessions typically range from S$30–80 per session depending on level and subject, while one-to-one tutoring can range from S$50 for part-time tutors to S$120 or more per hour for MOE-trained or graduate tutors at secondary and JC level. Ask whether fees are charged per session, as a monthly package, or on a per-term basis. Clarify whether a trial class carries a separate fee, and whether materials, assessment papers, or workbooks are included or billed separately. Some providers offer sibling discounts or reduced rates for block-booking multiple subjects. See the full Private Tutors cost guide for Singapore →
Many private tuition providers in Singapore offer a trial class, either free or at a reduced rate, before you sign up for a full term. It is worth asking Top Tutor Now directly whether this is available and what the trial fee, if any, would be. During a trial session, observe whether the tutor adjusts the pace to your child's current level, whether explanations are clear and patient, and whether your child feels comfortable asking questions. A single session can reveal a great deal about teaching style and whether the approach suits your child's learning preferences. If a formal trial class is not offered, ask for a brief introductory consultation so you can gauge the tutor's familiarity with the relevant syllabus before making a term commitment.
Top Tutor Now has not publicly listed specific tutor credentials, so it is advisable to ask directly before committing. Key questions include whether the tutor holds a degree in the relevant subject, whether they have NIE training or prior MOE teaching experience, and how many years they have been tutoring at the level your child requires. Also confirm that the tutor is familiar with the specific syllabus your child follows — MOE, IB, IGCSE, and AP each have distinct assessment styles, and syllabus alignment matters significantly for examination preparation. Take the trial class and confirm the tutor's actual credentials before committing to a term.
