About YMCA Student Care Centre

About "YMCA Student Care Centre"

YMCA Student Care Centre operates a student care programme at its Jurong West location, listed under the Childcare category on KakiList and verified as islandwide in coverage. The centre is KakiList-verified and ACRA-registered. It currently holds a Google rating of 3.7 out of 5, though this is based on only 3 reviews and should be treated as directional rather than definitive. Fees are priced at the mid-range tier ($$) on a monthly recurring basis.

Families interested in enrolling a child should begin by enquiring about available slots for their intended start month, as student care places can fill quickly, particularly around the January intake period. When you make contact — by phone or through the online enquiry form — it is worth asking about the daily routine, homework supervision arrangements, staff-to-student ratio, and the settling-in approach for new pupils. Parents of Singapore citizen children should also ask about ECDA subsidy eligibility, as approved student care centres may qualify for fee assistance under the MOE Student Care Fee Assistance scheme. It is advisable to arrange a centre visit before committing, so you can meet the staff and assess the environment directly.

To take the first step, reach out to YMCA Student Care Centre via phone or their enquiry form to confirm current vacancy for your child's level and preferred start date, and to schedule a visit to the Jurong West centre.

Do reconsider to enroll your child to JWPS YMCA student care. They don't really check & ensure your child finish their homework. We all paid for the same amount but don't get help at all from the teachers. My son is under a class guide by a Indian teacher but for chinese nobody can help him. There is once he have maths homework it not done and no remark indicate for me by the student care and lucky i checked. I taught him myself & yet next day the teacher indicate in the book that it completed, trying to make us think she teach him. Even a teacher lied?

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does "YMCA Student Care Centre" charge per month?

YMCA Student Care Centre uses a monthly recurring fee model, priced at the mid-range ($$) tier. Exact figures are not publicly listed, so you will need to contact the centre directly for the current monthly rate. When enquiring, ask about the full cost of enrolment — this typically includes a one-off registration fee, a refundable deposit (usually equivalent to one to two months' fees), and any additional charges for uniforms or personal accident insurance. Childcare and student care fees at ECDA-licensed or MOE-registered centres are GST-exempt, so you should not be charged GST on the programme fee itself. Always request a written fee schedule before signing the enrolment contract. See the full childcare cost guide for Singapore →

What subsidies can I claim at "YMCA Student Care Centre"?

Singapore citizen children enrolled at approved student care centres may be eligible for the MOE Student Care Fee Assistance (StudentCare FAS), which is means-tested and based on gross monthly household income or per capita income. Subsidy quantum is tiered — families with lower household incomes can receive higher assistance, potentially covering a significant portion of the monthly fee. Permanent resident children are generally not eligible for MOE StudentCare FAS, though they may qualify for limited centre-level bursaries in some cases. Subsidy rates and income thresholds are reviewed periodically, so it is important to check directly with MOE or ECDA for the most current figures before making financial plans. To apply, you will typically need to submit income documents at the point of enrolment. Ask the centre's administrator for the application process and required paperwork.

Is there a waitlist at "YMCA Student Care Centre"?

Student care places in Singapore — particularly at established centres — can fill up well in advance, especially for the main January intake that aligns with the start of the school year. It is advisable to enquire at least three to six months ahead of your intended start date to avoid disappointment. To secure a place, centres typically require payment of a registration fee and, in some cases, a deposit. These amounts should be confirmed with the centre directly, as policies vary. If the centre is currently full, ask to be placed on a waitlist and clarify how offers are communicated when a space becomes available. Contact YMCA Student Care Centre by phone or via the enquiry form to check current availability for your child's school level and preferred start month.
