When exploring a student care place for your child, the typical next step is to enquire about available slots for your intended start month, as places — particularly after the primary school enrolment exercise — can fill quickly. During your initial enquiry, ask about the daily routine, homework supervision arrangements, the staff-to-child ratio, and any settling-in provisions for children new to the centre. It is also worth confirming whether the centre is ECDA-approved, as this determines whether Singapore citizen and permanent resident families can access Basic and Additional Subsidies to offset monthly fees.
To get started, contact YWCA Student Care directly via phone or the online enquiry form to check current vacancy for your child's level and preferred start date, and arrange a visit to the centre before committing.
Visit the centre in person, meet the lead teacher, and read the parent contract before signing.

It offers very good after school care. Lessons were useful for children's well being and learning of important skills for success.
Do reconsider to enroll your child to JWPS YMCA student care. They don't really check & ensure your child finish their homework. We all paid for the same amount but don't get help at all from the teachers. My son is under a class guide by a Indian teacher but for chinese nobody can help him. There is once he have maths homework it not done and no remark indicate for me by the student care and lucky i checked. I taught him myself & yet next day the teacher indicate in the book that it completed, trying to make us think she teach him. Even a teacher lied?

YWCA Student Care charges fees on a monthly recurring basis at a mid-range price point. Before confirming enrolment, ask about any one-time registration fee, the deposit amount (typically equivalent to one to two months' fees), and whether uniform or personal accident insurance costs apply separately. Childcare and student care fees in Singapore are GST-exempt, so the monthly figure quoted should be the amount you pay. Fee amounts can vary depending on the programme tier, operating hours, and whether subsidy deductions apply to your account. Always request a written fee schedule before signing the parent contract. Singapore citizen children enrolled at ECDA-licensed student care centres may be eligible for the Basic Subsidy of up to S$300 per month for childcare programmes. Working mothers who clock at least 56 hours of work per month may additionally qualify for the Working Mother's Child Development Co-Savings (WMS) component. Families with a gross monthly household income below S$12,000 may qualify for Additional Subsidy, which can bring the combined subsidy to up to S$710 per month depending on income tier. Permanent resident children are eligible for partial subsidies at reduced quantum. Subsidy rates and income thresholds are reviewed periodically by ECDA, so confirm current figures directly with ECDA or the centre before budgeting. YWCA Student Care can advise on whether the centre is ECDA-approved for subsidy purposes as part of your enrolment enquiry.
Demand for student care places in Singapore tends to be highest around January, which aligns with the start of the primary school year. For popular centres, it is advisable to enquire three to six months ahead of your intended start date to avoid missing out. Infant care vacancies typically require even longer lead times, though student care timelines are generally shorter. To secure a place, centres typically require payment of a registration fee and a deposit. Contact YWCA Student Care directly via phone or the enquiry form to ask about current availability for the relevant school year and your child's level, and to understand the steps needed to reserve a spot.
