About Ambulance Medical Service (AMS)

About Ambulance Medical Service (AMS)

Ambulance Medical Service (AMS) is a senior transport provider operating islandwide from its Changi Road base. The listing has been verified by KakiList and is ACRA-registered. It holds a 4/5 rating across 82 Google reviews — a moderate sample that provides a reasonable directional signal. No regulatory licences are recorded on this listing; families should confirm directly whether AMS holds the relevant MOH or AIC registration for any clinical transport components, particularly if the journey requires medical monitoring or equipment.

Senior transport sits at the intersection of eldercare and medical logistics. When enquiring, clarify the nature of the journey — routine hospital or clinic appointment, discharge from an acute ward, dialysis run, or day-care transfer — as each has different requirements for vehicle type, equipment, and accompanying personnel. Confirm whether the booking covers a one-way or return trip, how far in advance slots must be reserved (dialysis schedules, for instance, often require recurring weekly bookings), and whether a family member or caregiver may accompany the passenger. Families coordinating care for elderly relatives with mobility limitations or medical devices should ask specifically about wheelchair-accessible vehicles, stretcher capacity, and any medical escort arrangements.

To make an enquiry or book a journey, contact Ambulance Medical Service (AMS) by phone or via the online form. It is advisable to have the patient's mobility status, appointment date and time, and any medical equipment requirements on hand before calling.

I would like to thank SGT Mahmod, SGT Ameerul and SGT Anastasia from AMS-995 for their patience, care and professionalism when they were activated to attend to me when I was unwell today (9 Jan). As a former AMS medic, it was great to see familiar faces too. Thank you all for your work and dedication. 🙏🙏

Highly recommended ! The company educates staff well! Yesterday evening , my dad, 65, was parking his car in the car park when he suddenly choked on something ( my dad loves to eat oranges while driving). I was in the passenger seat and did not know what to do, as this was the first time I've encountered such an incident . It was when I saw an emergency ambulance (with the AMS logo on it) that was about to park. So I approached the driver of the vehicle and explained the situation. He rushed over to assist , looking like a smart and professionally trained young man ! Thanks, Mr. Azumat. Your swift action has saved my dad's life and created a positive impact on bystanders ! We will recommend AMS!

I’m very thankful to Ambulance Service, a service that I have been using for the last 6 months. Today I am very grateful to Henry and (I didn’t get his partner name). Henry, especially, is very professional. He also is a very warm person, making small talk to my mother. He also ensure safety is of upmost importance and ensures that this is carried out. Kiddos to Henry and the AMS.

I would like to sincerely thank Ben and Daniel for the excellent ambulance service they provided during my dad’s transfer. Even though I could not be there in person, Ben made the effort to call me with updates, which gave me great peace of mind. Both Ben and Daniel were professional and reassuring throughout the process. Truly appreciate their service.

The team Henry and Syakib is very professional. They came fast, attended to my dad and did their round of assessment, very careful when moving my dad and helped greatly in sending him to nearest hospital safely and swiftly. Thank you very much and would not hesitate to recommend their services.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Ambulance Medical Service (AMS) charge?

Ambulance Medical Service (AMS) does not publicly list specific rates, and pricing for senior transport typically varies by journey type, distance, vehicle configuration (wheelchair-accessible van versus stretcher ambulance), and whether a medical escort is required. One-way transfers for routine appointments generally cost less than stretcher or medically monitored runs. When requesting a quote, confirm whether the rate covers a one-way or return trip, any waiting time at the destination, public holiday or after-hours surcharges, and whether GST applies. Ask for the quote in writing before confirming the booking. See the full eldercare cost guide for Singapore →

Live-in or visit-based — which does Ambulance Medical Service (AMS) offer?

Ambulance Medical Service (AMS) is a transport provider, not a residential or home-visit care service, so the live-in versus visit-based distinction does not directly apply here. The service is journey-based — booking a vehicle and, where relevant, an accompanying crew for a specific transfer. Families who need recurring transport, such as weekly dialysis runs or regular outpatient appointments, should ask whether AMS offers standing bookings or recurring schedules, and what the cancellation and rescheduling policy is. If the patient also requires home-based nursing or personal care between journeys, that would need to be arranged through a separate AIC-registered home care provider.

Is the caregiver trained and insured?

No regulatory licences are recorded on the AMS listing, so families should ask directly whether the crew holding the transport are trained in patient handling, first aid, or emergency response, and whether any accompanying personnel hold relevant certifications (for example, Emergency Medical Technician or nursing qualifications) for medically monitored runs. Confirm whether AMS carries public liability and passenger insurance covering incidents during transport. For journeys involving clinical equipment or patients with complex medical needs, also verify whether the vehicle and service meet MOH or AIC requirements for non-emergency ambulance transport. Request documentation of any relevant licences or insurance before confirming a booking.
