Prospective students or parents are encouraged to enquire about level and syllabus fit — whether that means beginner social dancing, competitive ballroom, or a particular dance style such as waltz, foxtrot, cha-cha, or tango. It is worth asking whether classes are structured as group sessions or one-to-one instruction, and what the typical class size is. Clarify the term commitment upfront, including whether a trial class is available before signing up for a full term, and whether lessons are conducted solely at the Outram Road studio or at other venues islandwide.
To take the next step, reach out to Ballroom Dance Academy Singapore via WhatsApp, phone, or the online contact form to ask about current class schedules, available levels, and trial class options before committing to a term.
Take the trial class and confirm the tutor's actual credentials before committing to a term.
An absolutely wonderful experience with Ballroom Dance Academy Singapore! We took private classes with Ian to prepare for our wedding first dance, and it was one of the best decisions we made. 🤩 From the very beginning, Ian made us feel at ease, guiding us with patience, expertise, and a great sense of fun. We started out with little confidence in our dancing skills, but after just 5 sessions we felt so comfortable and ready — and on our wedding day we truly nailed it! Our first dance turned into one of the most magical and unforgettable moments of the whole celebration, and our guests loved it too. Thank you so much, Ian, for making this memory possible — we couldn’t recommend you more highly! ✨
After moving to Singapore around a year ago, have been coming to this studio ever since. Great community, welcoming all dancers of all levels with a great focus on excellence and improvement. Have made great friends whilst improving my dance. Would recommend to anyone interested in dancing or has danced before.
Regina was our ballroom dance instructor for our wedding first dance, and she was absolutely amazing! She was friendly, enthusiastic, and passionate about teaching us to dance, and she went above and beyond to make sure that we had a good time and were comfortable with the choreography. Regina not only helped us understand the basics of dancing, but she also taught us the little details that make a big difference, such as how to look like we were dancing as partners and not just memorising steps. She was also open to feedback and made changes to the choreography to fit our needs and the lyrics of our song. We came to Ballroom Dance Singapore with low expectations, but Regina helped us nail our first wedding dance! We received many compliments from our guests on how well we danced and how magical it looked. Even though we had a few brain farts during the dance, Regina's teaching to always trust each other and enjoy the time got us through it. Our first dance was one of the most unforgettable moments of our wedding! We highly recommend Ballroom Dance Singapore to anyone looking for a fun and rewarding dance experience. If you're looking for a ballroom dance instructor, we highly recommend Regina! She's the best! Thank you, Regina, for everything!
I joined the beginner 1 class last month and I immediately knew I wanted to continue as far as i could. The teachers are incredibly patient and supportive and make sure that you’re comfortable and don’t feel overwhelmed. They also respond promptly to queries and are extremely helpful with procuring dancing shoes and other paraphernalia. On the whole it’s an extremely warm and comforting environment with no judgement and definitely worth checking out!
Thanks to the instructors and senior students, I had a satisfying experience in Beginners 1 and now I am looking forward to progressing further in Beginners 2. In my opinion, there's no point going to studios that are deemed to be more established if you're not going to benefit from the classes. At BDAS, you have instructors and seniors who are genuinely patient and want to aid you in grasping dance techniques. Come see for yourself!

Many dance schools in Singapore offer a trial class at a reduced fee or at the standard per-session rate before you commit to a full term. A trial is a good opportunity to gauge whether the teaching style suits you or your child, whether the pace and level are appropriate, and whether the class environment feels comfortable. When attending a trial at Ballroom Dance Academy Singapore, note how the instructor explains technique, how the group is managed, and whether students at a similar level are present. Ask the academy directly about their trial class policy and cost, as these vary by school.
Dance instructor credentials are not listed publicly for Ballroom Dance Academy Singapore. In the ballroom dance field, relevant qualifications include examinations and certifications from bodies such as the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD), the British Dance Council (BDC), or the International Dance Teachers' Association (IDTA). Competition experience and adjudicator status can also signal a higher level of expertise. It is advisable to ask the academy directly about their instructors' backgrounds, years of teaching experience, and whether training is aligned to any recognised dance examination syllabus. This is especially relevant if your goal includes graded examinations or competitive dance.
