About Chimes Music Singapore

About "Chimes Music Singapore"

Chimes Music Singapore is a music school operating islandwide from its centre at Bain Street, verified by KakiList. It holds a Google rating of 4.9 out of 5 across 267 reviews — a robust sample that lends meaningful weight to that figure. Pricing is indicated at the mid-range tier ($$), though specific per-session or package fees are not publicly listed and should be confirmed directly with the school.

Parents and adult learners enquiring about lessons should clarify which instrument or discipline they are interested in, the student's current level, and which syllabus or examination board — such as ABRSM, Trinity, or LCM — may be relevant. It is worth asking whether lessons are available on a one-to-one basis or in small groups, and whether classes are conducted in-person at the Bain Street centre or online. Term commitment structures and trial class arrangements vary between music schools, so confirming both the scheduling flexibility and any minimum enrolment period before signing up is advisable.

To take the next step, reach out to Chimes Music Singapore via WhatsApp, phone, or the enquiry form to ask about availability for your preferred instrument and level, and to arrange a trial class before committing to a term.

We had a disappointing experience that felt quite traumatic. Initially, the staff suggested my son try the smallest drum, but when he looked for the speaker, his inquiries were ignored. Later, after he moved to another drum connected to the speaker, the same staff member unplugged it and redirected it to another child. Most concerning was when the staff aggressively approached my son, made an inappropriate gesture, and loudly shushed him before taking the drumstick from him. My helper and I were standing right next to him, which would have provided an opportunity to address us directly. While drums are inherently noisy, it was unfair for him to single out my son in that manner, especially when many children were making sounds. It's important that staff approach children with respect and consider the presence of their guardians. ——————————————————————————- I believe I am blocked from responding to the owner's reply to my review. I would like to challenge your assessment of the CCTV footage. Please review it with me and point out the specific moments where my son is supposedly playing the drums aggressively or disturbing other customers. My helper and I were present, and we can confirm that he was simply playing as any child would. Have you seen the footage shows your staff approaching my son and forcibly taking the drumsticks from him without addressing me first? I found this action inappropriate, as no one should interact with my son in that manner. I confronted your staff about this incident instead of him approaching me, and he never mention any of your store policy which raises questions about how thoroughly the CCTV was reviewed. I ask that you review the CCTV again and provide an honest account of what you observe.

I bought the guitar from this shop around late 2024. However, just recently, the guitar’s machine head was loose and I could not tune it properly. That’s when I decided to come back here to replace the faulty part. I was honestly shocked when they said that they did not have the machine head replacement with them. The problem about this specific guitar is that the screw configuration and placement is not equally spaced, which left me with no choice. In addition, the staff working on shift that day said that it is a “common issue” and I have to find solutions of my own. This shows a lack of management and solutions on their end as they are not prepared and are not willing to help with finding the part for us and putting the responsibility on ourselves to find a solution. If the original shop that sold you a product could not give you an option to repair or do not keep track of replacement parts, it shows a big red flag that this is not a reliable shop to be buying products from. Horrible experience and bad reliability, would not buy from them again.

Amazing experience at the Music Connoisseur! Mikail & Bryan were very helpful and knowledgeable. I came in for the Lava Me Play, tried all the variations and the staff explained their differences in detail. Thank you so much :) Definitely recommend to anyone!

My son had an amazing experience trying out and playing the electric guitar for the first time, he absolutely loved it. Thank you Michael for your very patient and warm support. I’m glad my son bought something he really loved.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does "Chimes Music Singapore" charge per session?

Chimes Music Singapore displays a mid-range pricing tier ($$), but specific per-session rates, monthly package fees, and term fees are not publicly listed. Music school pricing in Singapore typically varies by instrument, lesson duration (30, 45, or 60 minutes), and whether lessons are one-to-one or in a group. Group classes are generally more affordable than individual lessons. It is also worth asking about any trial class fee, whether materials or examination entry fees are charged separately, and whether sibling or multi-subject discounts apply. Confirm the full cost structure before committing to a term. See the full Music Schools cost guide for Singapore →

Can I try a class before committing?

Many music schools in Singapore offer a trial lesson — either at a reduced rate or at the standard session price — before a student is enrolled for a full term. A trial class is a useful opportunity to assess whether the teaching style suits the learner, whether the level pitched is appropriate, and whether the student is engaged and comfortable with the instructor. Contact Chimes Music Singapore directly via WhatsApp, phone, or the enquiry form to ask about their trial class policy, the cost involved, and how slots are allocated. It is also a good idea to clarify what happens if the level needs to be adjusted after the trial.

What are the tutors' credentials at "Chimes Music Singapore"?

Tutor credentials are not listed in the publicly available information for Chimes Music Singapore. For music instruction, relevant qualifications to ask about include formal conservatoire or university music training, performance experience, and familiarity with the examination syllabus your child will be following — such as ABRSM, Trinity Guildhall, or LCM. It is reasonable to ask how long each instructor has been teaching, whether they hold teaching diplomas (such as ABRSM DipABRSM or LRSM), and whether they have a track record of preparing students for graded examinations. Contact Chimes Music Singapore directly to ask about the specific instructor who would be assigned to your lessons before committing.
