About CHOWK
CHOWK is a dance school operating islandwide from its studio at 28 Aliwal Street in the Kampong Glam arts belt, and has been verified by KakiList as an active provider. It holds a perfect 5-out-of-5 rating on Google, though this is drawn from only 6 reviews, so it should be treated as directional rather than conclusive. Pricing is indicated at the S$$ level, though specific session or monthly fees are not published and should be confirmed directly with the school.
Parents and students looking to enrol should begin by enquiring about which dance styles and levels are on offer, and whether the curriculum aligns with the student's age, experience, and goals. It is worth asking whether classes run in small groups or offer one-to-one instruction, and whether a trial class is available before committing to a term. Confirming the term structure, any materials or costume fees, and whether classes are held on-site at Aliwal Street or at other islandwide venues will help families plan around schedules and travel.
To take the next step, reach out to CHOWK via WhatsApp, phone, or the enquiry form to ask about current class schedules, available levels, and trial class options before committing to a term.

A great place to learn Odissi - great teachers and a feeing of camaraderie. I only wish I’d started sooner ☺️
Highly recommended - an excellent dance school for kids and adults. It’s fun too having a family like atmosphere. The teaching methods are extremely scientific and stresses in developing core skills and solid foundation. If anyone is serious about learning Odissi - this is the place to be in Singapore.
I took 2 classes at this beautiful studio during my visit back home. Love the dance and the way it was taught. If you want to learn Indian dance. This is the place.

CHOWK's pricing is indicated at the S$$ level, but specific per-session, monthly package, or term fees are not published in the listing and should be confirmed directly with the school. For context, dance and enrichment classes in Singapore typically range from S$30–80 per session for group classes, with one-to-one tuition running higher. Trial class fees, where offered, may be the same as or lower than a standard session. It is also worth asking about any additional costs such as uniform or costume requirements, recital fees, and whether a materials or registration fee applies at the start of term. Some schools offer sibling or multi-class discounts. See the full Dance Schools cost guide for Singapore →
It is advisable to ask CHOWK whether a trial class is available before signing up for a full term. A trial gives the student a chance to experience the teaching style, class pace, and the physical demands of the style being taught, and helps confirm whether the level is an appropriate fit. When attending a trial, observe whether the instructor communicates clearly, adapts to different ability levels, and maintains a structured session. For younger children, note how the instructor manages group dynamics and encourages participation. Contact CHOWK directly via WhatsApp or phone to ask about trial class availability and any associated fee.
The listing does not include specific information about the instructors' qualifications, training background, or years of teaching experience. For a dance school, relevant credentials may include formal training from a recognised dance academy, graded examination certifications such as RAD or ISTD for ballet, or professional performance experience in the relevant dance style. It is reasonable to ask CHOWK directly about the lead instructor's background, whether instructors hold any teaching certifications, and how long the school has been operating. Syllabus alignment — whether classes prepare students for graded examinations or are purely recreational — is also worth clarifying before committing to a term.
If CHOWK isn't the right fit, these are other dance schools providers on KakiList worth shortlisting. All are independently listed — no affiliate fees, no "featured" sponsorships.
