I am the patient of Dr John Chia since 2014. Diagnosed with stage 4B endometrioses cancer mets to lung. Barely able to walked and breathless and speechless too when i saw him in 2014, i am well living life as per normal now. I am currently on hormornal treatment. Very very grateful to Dr Chia and his team. Professional and helpful to manage my condition. The team is very accessible and responsive via watsapp which is very helpful for me. Once again, thank u Dr Chia!!!

3rd Update on 4Dec 2023 Been close to 12 months since mom’s tumor marker readings is good. And has complete remission. Still need up to 5 years before chance of being out of the woods is much higher. Dr Chia and team has been proactive in preventive management. And coordinating with other specialist dr for holistic treatment (and copying them on latest lab results) See attached photo for latest updates 2nd Update on 31 Dec 2022: Grateful Mom marker/scans are free of tumor&cancer. From Oct-end Nov. she completed all treatments without delay + completed all Radiotherapy sessions even though she is frail at 65 years old All thanks to the comprehensive care, attention and support of all in Curie. Including the trio of Angela , Amanda , Afiqah managing the fluidity of appts. Nurse Jing2, Jing Yi, Emma, Indra, Long and others both in Farrer & Mount E Novena. Now mom is still under the care of Dr John Chia to tie things up and follow through. Highly recommended oncologist team! 🥰 Original Review: It has been a journey since my mom was diagnosed with Cervical CA Stage 3C. We Sought Dr John Chia second opinion after doing 4x of Chemo at another clinic. On the first consult, my mom, sister and I had no hesitation to continue treatment with Dr John as her medical oncologist. Along the course of treatment where we accompany her to every appts, our whole family trust Dr John. Why? 1) Dr John’s immediate intervention on the first consult when we seek his 2nd opinion saved my mom’s kidney. Giving her much more fighting chance in the long term. For my mom condition, he seeks to cure, and we can see his mindset is to try and give his best and not compromise! 2) Having patient interest at heart - We saw first hand how When it’s necessary, he expeditely started my mom on radiotherapy. And not only he made it happen, he made contacts to make sure it happen on the afternoon itself. Where else, another doctor could retain my mom for more chemo sessions before passing over for radiotherapy? 3) Caring, hands on, comprehensive and small details are taken care of nicely (whatever Dr Chia says, he will see to it and we know it will be done. For family members to have this assurance really means a lot) - it starts from him immediately putting a catheter during the very 1st consult (not sure if other medical oncologist is this hands on?) before referring to a urologist. It relives so much discomfort my mom has been experiencing unknowingly. When my mom had a slight fever due to urine infection, he bothers to ask the clinic to send antibiotics to our home once the urine culture result from the previous clinic is out (what more, this is done because he avail himself to patients even beyond clinic appointments tome). And we love it that he communicates actively with the other specialist (radiologist, urologist) on an ongoing basis during both inpatient and outpatient situations. So you know someone you trust is on top of things and minimise any oversight/slip ups that might happen when it’s not under his direct supervision Overall, our family is grateful to have Dr John as our mom oncologist, acting as the primary doctor overseeing her cancer. We seen first hand how he goes beyond seeing things from an oncologist point of view and manage my mom overall conditions. Prioritising the urgent care and also thinks & communicates the long term plan well with us. So it’s not like you will be having a doctor who apply guidelines rigidly but very much a treatment that is personalised and tailored to each person. Tells a lot about his knowledge, experience and care!

My mum went under Dr Joline Lim’s care for breast cancer treatment in September 2025. Dr Lim took great pains to explain my mum’s type of cancer, types of treatment options, duration, side effects and what to expect along the treatment journey. She was detailed and clear, patient and positive. She generously shared personal experiences of her own with regards to private and public hospital treatments, quality, costs and wait times and did not try to dissuade us from returning to public hospital for treatment out of cost concerns and in fact helped with the smooth uninterrupted transition between the initial treatment with her clinic before returning to public hospital treatment. If my mum’s insurance covered private treatment she would have, without doubt or hesitation, remained under Dr Lim’s care. She is excellent - empathetic and kind, knowledgeable and deeply interested in cancer and the development of treatment types. I highly recommend her if you are looking for an oncologist. Aside from Dr Lim, her staff - both the administrative and nursing staff - are like her, patient, polite, cheerful and kind. When life hits you with such a serious disease, all of these little things make the journey far more positive and encouraging.

“Spring will come” indeed. Praise the Lord! 🙌 Grateful and blessed to have crossed the first critical hurdle. From the bottom of our hearts, we cannot thank Dr John Chia and his superb team enough. Meticulous, passionate, and at times, even quirky. But always patient-centric. Could not have asked for a better onco. Highly highly recommended.
