Absolutely unacceptable experience with Daikin Singapore. My Daikin aircon is only 3 years old, and the problems started within the first year — constant gas leaks, REPEATED gas top-ups, and I even paid around $480 for a sealant because I was told there was leakage. Now the compressor has failed. Here is where it gets outrageous: The compressor is under warranty, yet the service team sent me a quotation showing that I still have to pay $600 labour for compressor replacement, another $130 dismantling fee, plus GST — totaling about $795.70 in labour alone, for a part Daikin acknowledges is faulty and covered under warranty. On top of that, another part in the condenser unit is spoilt, costing another ~$333 and additional charges. The total quotation came up to $1,305.82. So tell me, what exactly is “under warranty” here? If the part is covered but the labour to fix Daikin’s own faulty part costs more than the part itself, then this warranty means nothing. It is just a way to shift the cost back to the customer and call it “policy.” When I spoke to customer service (Denise and Kesvin), they both admitted the labour cost is high, but simply repeated “that’s how it is.” No explanation. No accountability. No effort to resolve. And the solution they suggested? They told me I could remove the compressor myself, bring it to their AMK industrial building for a one-to-one exchange, then bring it back and install it myself — to avoid labour fees. So Daikin expects customers to be their own aircon technicians, just to avoid paying nearly $800 labour for their manufacturing failure. To make matters worse, the customer service Lali then just sms me the above quotation and said: “Please help to sign and attach back.” No explanation. No breakdown. No discussion. JUST SIGN AND PAY. This is not just poor service — it is unethical, dismissive, and deeply unfair to customers who purchased Daikin believing it to be a reliable brand. I am extremely disappointed and feel completely let down. Daikin needs to re-evaluate its warranty policy, its labour pricing, and most importantly, how it treats its customers. I would strongly advise others to think twice before choosing Daikin. This experience has been a nightmare.

Complaint Regarding Defective Daikin FCU and Poor Customer Service Dear Daikin Customer Support, I am writing to formally express my frustration and dissatisfaction with the brand-new Daikin Fan Coil Unit (FCU) I purchased, which leaked refrigerant upon first usage. Prior to this complaint, my installer conducted a comprehensive piping pressure test, including an isolated pressure test on the FCU. The results confirmed that the leakage was solely due to a defect in the brand-new Daikin unit, resulting in a total loss of refrigerant and an error code upon its first activation. Despite reporting this issue before Christmas, I am still waiting for a resolution. To make matters worse, I was informed that Daikin’s proposed solution is to replace only the leaking cooling coil. This is unacceptable. I purchased a brand-new unit and should not be forced to accept a repaired system that was defective from the start. As a consumer, I expect better quality control and customer service from a brand with Daikin’s reputation. This experience has been disappointing and frustrating. I urge you to replace the entire defective unit immediately, as it is unreasonable to compromise on the quality of a product I paid for in full. Please let me know what additional proof, if any, is required to process a full replacement. I trust that Daikin values its customers and will rectify this issue promptly to restore my confidence in your brand. I look forward to your prompt response. Update April 2025: Another fan coil issue with the new Daikin FCUs. This time, determined to be leaking fan coil again. Well done Daikin. Out of 9 FCUs brand new, 3 broke down within 5months. So much so for brand loyalty. Should have chosen MITSUBISHI instead.

More than 25 years ago when I am a air-conditioning serviceman with my 2 uncles, I really like Daikin aircon systems. Everytime when a customer wants to install 4 airconditioners in his flat and asks me which brand is good, I recommend Daikin because we have installed many Daikin airconditioners and so far, no complaint is made about Daikin. We receive many compliments that Daikin is really a good brand. I remember there is a lady customer staying in Tampines who says she really likes the wall-mounted fan coil units' design and that the design really goes well with the decor of her flat. Now I am no longer an airconditioning service man but if anyone wants my recommendation for aircon brands, I will still recommend Daikin.

We have been using Daikin to service our air con on a periodic basis over the years. Although marginally pricier than others, their quality of service is excellent. Their service team is equally good, esp the team led by Ah Poh who attends to us. A recent incident comes to mind. One of the indoor units was not blowing cold air. All it took me was to call them and they showed up later in the day. The fault was in the thermostat and it was replaced as part of the contract, no questions asked.

My recent Daikin installation was done smoothly. My installer accessed my old setup and recommended optimal positioning of new indoor units and compressor. Overall was happy that AC performance exceeded my expectation as it provides good and energy efficient cooling. Would recommend Daikin ACs for their reliability, up to date features and trouble free operation for years to come. Thank You .
