We were assigned to this doctor by the delivery hospital and visited her clinic twice after our baby was born. Unfortunately, both visits involved waiting times of over one hour, which was particularly challenging with a newborn. During the consultations, the doctor appeared rushed and did not seem very welcoming toward my questions as a first time mother. At one point, I was told I could ask only one more question, which made me feel uncomfortable and hesitant to clarify my concerns. During one visit, she spent quite a long time listening to my baby’s heart and reviewing the hospital discharge documents. She mentioned that the heart rate seemed abnormal, which was very worrying to hear as new parents. After checking again about ten minutes later, she said it was probably because the baby had just woken up. Those ten minutes were extremely stressful for us, as we feared something serious might be wrong. We understand clinics can be busy, but as new parents, we were hoping for a more reassuring and patient-centered experience. After this visit, we decided to continue follow up care elsewhere.
