Last year I suffered from autonomic dysfunction (syncope), triggered by a viral infection after giving birth. I was very ill and also very concerned as I was multi-symptomatic and did not understand the cause of my symptoms, despite doing the rounds of multiple specialists. Amongst other symptoms I had been struggling with unpredictable non-trigger-specific sudden raises in heart rate, mostly at rest, and a feeling of not being able to get in sufficient breath (whilst having normal oxygen saturation levels). Dr Kojodjojo performed a tilt-table test on me (the next morning after going to A&E the previous night) and was able to tell me immediately what the cause of my problems were, and as importantly, was able to give me a clear course of treatment and sufficient (and constant) reassurance that my symptoms were largely harmless and had a clear trajectory of improvement. He has a wonderful nature; is genuinely kind and caring and is the only doctor that I have met who has been willing to stand in the stairwell of a hospital and watch me run up and down the stairs trying to trigger post viral etopic beats. I think this sums him up. He is also very encouraging of the resumption and continuation of a normal life-style where permissible during the recovery journey. He, along with his colleague Dr Edgar Tay are the only two cardiologists that I have met along my journey in Singapore who have truly put me at ease and helped me on my journey to recovery. Given how many doctors I saw in 2025 I should be in a good position to say that Dr Kojodjojo is a true gem and worthy of a patients trust.
