what is the point of making appointments weeks in advance if you're going to make your patients wait hours past their appt time anyway? just make it a first-come-first-served free-for-all. we cant plan anything else on appt day when we don't know how long each visit is going to drag on for anyway.
Lots of healthy snacks at the pharmacy. Super addictive Gan Yuan Crab Roe flavoured nuts & seeds.
I was in the infusion bay for two hours, and even after my treatment, I had to wait an extra 30 minutes for one medication, even though the nurse had already ordered it before treatment began. It was very frustrating, as the Pharmacy department seemed to be the slowest and least efficient in the entire hospital particularly the one on the 9th floor. It appeared that their own convenience and comfort took precedence over the needs of the patients. They display a complete lack of empathy by squandering our precious time. Knowing that I have to pick up medication now makes me anxious about seeking treatment. My fear of the hospital staff surpasses my fear of cancer. :(
I can’t rate the care I had at the A&E here enough. The 10/12 doctors and nurses who treated me for anaphylactic shock over 2 days were just amazing. They took great care of me not just because I was in seriously bad shape and phenomenal pain (stung multiple times by Asian hornets) but because they found out my husband was abroad and I was all alone in Sg. The senior doctor in the first hour kept coming up to me every 10 mins to hold my hand and reassure me that I would not be left alone and they were doing everything they could for me. I still tear up thinking of his kindness. When my second anaphylactic reaction occurred later that day and the adrenaline jab didn’t work the doctors on the night shift were so concerned the specialists were called immediately. The swelling in my eye got so bad the eye specialist was called in at 3/4 am!! And all of them responded within minutes. I was given a choice of wards and when released the paperwork was so easy. And for the care I had, I have to say the cost was minimal. We were expecting to pay 5/6 times more. Thank you NUH. I hope I never have to go to your A&E again but if I do, I shall not be fearful and I’d choose you over any other hospital. However, when I was brought into A&E I was conscious but unable to speak or see due to the swelling of my face. It was a Caucasian neighbour who wheeled me in. The admin staff who came over could see I needed treatment immediately and said to her “give me your HELPER’s I.d card”. My neighbour was beyond embarrassed. Please train your staff that just because a person has brown skin that doesn’t automatically make them helpers. Some of us are also doctors, lawyers and engineers!!! 😏
My patience is running low because of the staff and nurses here at the Kent Ridge Wing. I have been going down to almost every week to accompany my dad because he has blood transfusion and the waiting time is usually 2 to 3 hours. I don’t know why their service is very slow and at times where you missed your queue number, they will skipped and attend to your queue number about 30 minutes later. Today was my last straw. I was waiting for my queue number staring at the TV waiting for the number to be shown only an hour after I registered. After my number was called, the nurses told me that they have been calling out my queue number for the past 10 minutes. So did I missed something? I did saw the screen but my number wasn’t called. Enlighten me please.
