About Drum Tutor

About "Drum Tutor"

Drum Tutor is a music education provider operating islandwide from its studio at Orchard Plaza, Singapore. It has been verified by KakiList, meaning a real person has confirmed its operating details and contact channels. The provider holds a 4.8-out-of-5 rating across 43 Google reviews — a moderate sample that offers a reasonable directional signal of quality. Pricing is positioned in the mid-range ($$) for the Singapore music tuition market, though specific session fees were not available at the time of this listing.

Prospective students or parents would typically begin by enquiring about level and syllabus fit — whether the instruction covers beginner, intermediate, or advanced drumming, and which style (pop, jazz, rock, or examined syllabuses such as ABRSM or Trinity) is most relevant. It is worth asking whether lessons are offered one-to-one or in small groups, and whether tuition takes place at the Orchard Plaza studio or at an alternative location. Confirm whether a trial lesson is available before committing to a term, and clarify the term length, cancellation policy, and whether materials such as drum pads or sticks are provided or must be sourced separately.

To take the next step, reach out to Drum Tutor via WhatsApp, phone, or the enquiry form to ask about current availability, session fees, and whether a trial lesson can be arranged before a longer commitment is made.

I am truly surprised by the 1 star review of the previous post. Li Qian taught our 4 year old and 7 year old. Our 4 year old is often not as attentive and tend to drift off sometimes but teacher Li Qian is so patient in engaging him and encouraging him each time he did it right. I think he is a good teacher for young kids! Definitely recommend Li Qian, a very patient and encouraging drum tutor.

Nice, cosy and safe environment for learning. Teacher Li Qian is commited, patient and reliable. Lessons start on time every week and teacher provides detailed feedback at the end of every lesson. My 7-year-old girl enjoys the lessons. Highly recommended.

My daughter has tried a few drum schools before and teacher Joash is by far her favourite. She learns very fast under his guidance and enjoys the selection of songs too.

Worst drum experience ever for a 4-year-old. Instructor Li Qian did not know how to engage children and child was bored and restless even after three lessons. He just made my child play the same beats over and over again. Energy level was low and Li Qian was clearly not trained to engage very young students. He was also rude and defensive. Disappointing and a waste of time and money.

My 16 year old son has been with Drum Tutor since June 2022 with Teacher Joash. He enjoys his lessons very much and always looks forward to his classes. Teacher Joash has been an inspiration for my son, always encouraging him to do better while giving him space to develop his own style of playing. I highly recommend Drum Tutor to anyone looking to start learning drums!

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does "Drum Tutor" charge per session?

Drum Tutor displays a mid-range ($$) price indicator, but specific per-session rates were not published at the time of this listing. In Singapore, drum lessons typically run from S$50–S$100 per hour for one-to-one tuition, with small-group classes often priced lower per head. Some providers offer monthly packages or term-based fees that work out more economically than paying session by session. It is worth confirming whether there is a separate registration or enrolment fee, whether drumsticks or practice pads are included, and whether sibling or multi-session discounts apply. Ask about the trial class fee upfront, as this is sometimes charged at a reduced rate. See the full Music Schools cost guide for Singapore →

Can I try a class before committing?

Many drum tuition providers in Singapore offer a trial lesson at a reduced or standard rate before asking students to commit to a term. A trial session is a good opportunity to assess whether the teaching style suits the student, whether the lesson pace feels appropriate for the current level, and whether the student feels comfortable in the studio environment. During the trial, observe how the tutor structures the session, whether they explain technique clearly, and whether the student leaves feeling engaged and motivated. Contact Drum Tutor directly via WhatsApp, phone, or the enquiry form to confirm their trial class policy and what the session covers.

What are the tutor's credentials?

Specific credentials for the tutor or tutors at Drum Tutor were not listed at the time of this entry. For drum tuition, relevant qualifications to ask about include formal music education or a performance background, examined syllabus experience (such as ABRSM or Trinity), and the number of years spent teaching students at your child's level or the adult learner's starting point. If the tutor has experience preparing students for graded examinations or has performed professionally, that is worth confirming directly. It is also reasonable to ask whether the same tutor will be assigned consistently rather than rotated. Contact Drum Tutor via WhatsApp or phone to ask these questions before committing to a term.
