About "Expressions Dance"
Expressions Dance is a dance school based at Goodman Arts Centre, offering classes islandwide and listed as a KakiList-verified provider. It holds a perfect 5-star rating on Google, though this is drawn from 17 reviews, so the signal should be treated as directional rather than conclusive. Pricing is indicated at the mid-range tier ($$), though specific session or monthly fees have not been published.
When enquiring, it is worth clarifying which dance styles and levels are available, and whether the curriculum aligns with your child's age and experience. Prospective students and parents should ask about group class sizes versus individual instruction, term commitment lengths, and whether there is a trial class available to assess fit before signing up. The Goodman Arts Centre location in the Mountbatten area is accessible by bus, and the arts campus setting provides dedicated studio facilities. Clarify whether classes are conducted at this address exclusively or whether Expressions Dance also operates at other islandwide venues.
The clearest next step is to reach out via WhatsApp, phone, or the online enquiry form to ask about current class schedules, available levels, and trial class arrangements before committing to a term.
Take the trial class and confirm the tutor's actual credentials before committing to a term.
Taking the Foundational Contemporary Dance course was an incredible experience. Our instructor, Yixuan was patient, and I learned not just about movement, but about spatial awareness - when to contract, when to release, when to push, when to pull. It becomes a course of sensing the body, loosening tension, learning the balance of surrendering and control, fluidity and composure. How you feel in your own skin. Yixuan’s approach is both insightful and intuitive, encouraging us to trust our bodies and connect deeply with the rhythm of movement. If you’re looking to deepen your understanding of contemporary dance while cultivating a greater awareness of your body and space, I highly recommend this course!
I caught T.H.E's production of Searching Blue and I had an amazing time! The immersive and captivating performance brought us from their beautiful studio space out into the Goodman Arts Centre space and beyond. The quality of contemporary dance was truly on another level. I loved the sound design as well. I will definitely be catching more of their future shows :D
I enjoyed myself so much and I think that’s number 1 when it comes to trying new things. I have zero dance experience but Kim and the students were very encouraging, patient and open to receiving this clueless two-left-feet adult human bean. However to be fair to myself, I have been practicing yoga for years. I’d say that helped tremendously in terms of flexibility and mobility. Even then, I’d defer to the Introductory class instead to understand the poses and transitions in-between. For someone who hasn’t been active at all, it’s better to start with Intro classes. Thank you THE!!
Loved their dance classes! Zu You's a great instructor, patient & breaks it down well. I like his focus on the underlying energy rather than just the movements. I also like that those who take part are mostly working, & very friendly. Only gripe is that sometimes choreo involves a lot of turning - but maybe it's a good challenge.
Love the Intro and Beginner classes on Mondays. Instructors are very patient and I really appreciate the way movements are broken down. Class pace is great, very enjoyable :)

Expressions Dance has not published specific per-session rates publicly, so you will need to enquire directly for current pricing. As a general reference, dance classes in Singapore typically range from S$30 to S$80 per session depending on the style, class size, and instructor experience. Monthly packages and term-based fees are common and usually work out more economical than paying per drop-in session. Ask whether there is a registration or enrolment fee, whether costume or recital costs are charged separately, and whether sibling discounts or package deals apply. A trial class fee, if applicable, is worth clarifying upfront. See the full Dance Schools cost guide for Singapore →
Many dance schools in Singapore offer a trial class so prospective students can gauge whether the style, level, and teaching approach suit them before committing to a full term. It is worth contacting Expressions Dance directly to confirm whether a trial session is available and whether there is a fee for it. During a trial class, pay attention to how the instructor manages the group, whether the pace and level match your child's current ability, and how engaged the student is by the end of the session. These are more reliable indicators of fit than marketing materials alone. If a formal trial class is not offered, ask whether you can observe a class in progress before enrolling.
Instructor credentials have not been published in the available listing information for Expressions Dance. For dance educators, relevant qualifications to ask about include professional dance training backgrounds, teaching certifications from recognised bodies such as the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) or ISTD, and years of performance or instructional experience. It is also worth asking whether the instructors have experience teaching the specific age group or dance style your child is interested in, and whether any instructors hold MOE or NIE backgrounds if academic enrichment is a priority. We recommend asking Expressions Dance directly for instructor profiles before committing to a term.
