They also sell the iconic Singapore Sling, which makes for a classic and easy-to-understand souvenir. I purchased some plates and an apron as gifts. They are practical items, and using them brings back memories of the trip, which makes them especially satisfying. You don’t need to be staying at Raffles Hotel to visit, so it’s a great place to stop by if you’re looking for high-quality, Singapore-inspired souvenirs.

I had a very disappointing experience at the shop inside Raffles Hotel Singapore. The cashier staff who served me was extremely unfriendly. I was properly dressed, quiet, and polite throughout my visit, yet the attitude I received was noticeably cold and unwelcoming. From the atmosphere and interaction, it was fairly clear that I am Japanese. What troubled me more was that the same cashier appeared to show a similarly unusual and overtly unfriendly attitude toward other Japanese customers present at the time. I understand that historical context or past experiences with certain tourists may influence personal perceptions. However, as an individual traveler who behaved respectfully, this treatment was deeply disappointing. Leaving Singapore with such an experience at an iconic and historic hotel was genuinely saddening. I hope the management reflects on how frontline staff interactions can affect guests’ lasting impressions of the city and country.
