About Fort Canine

About Fort Canine

Fort Canine is a pet grooming provider located at 3B River Valley Road, Singapore, offering services islandwide. The business is verified by KakiList, meaning a real person has confirmed its operating details and contact channel. It holds a 4.9-star rating on Google, though this is based on 9 reviews and should be treated as directional rather than conclusive. Pricing sits in the moderate range for Singapore pet grooming.

When approaching Fort Canine, it helps to have your pet's basic details ready: breed, size, coat type, and general temperament. Groomers will typically want to know whether your dog or cat has any sensitivities or has had difficult grooming experiences previously. Vaccination records — particularly for DHPP and rabies for dogs, or FVRCP for cats — are commonly required before a first appointment. It is worth asking about a trial visit if your pet is anxious, and discussing whether drop-off grooming at the River Valley Road premises suits your routine. Owners who need regular grooming may wish to enquire about a recurring schedule.

To get started, reach out to Fort Canine through the contact form on their listing. Have your pet's breed, approximate weight, and vaccination history to hand, and ask about current availability and pricing for your specific grooming requirements.

Wow I love this place (By Mutts and Mitten) and both my furkids and I had loads of fun. The pool is big and they restrict the number of dogs which I like it and water seems clean. The furkids life jacket are colorful and also float to help them stay afloat and there are staff overseeing so very safe for the furkids. There are also the washing and drying areas (individual room) for the furkids but if you are lazy to shower them, just pass them to The Pet Workshop (next to the pool) and they will take care of them and you can step out for coffee or a meal. Will come back again soon 🐶

Had a fantastic experience at Fort Canine Swimming Club! Brought my son together with our own dog, and it was such a memorable moment watching them swim and play together in the pool. Seeing the two of them enjoying the water side by side was honestly priceless. The facilities are clean, safe, and very well designed for dogs to swim comfortably. The environment is relaxed and welcoming, and you can tell the place is built by people who truly understand and love dogs. It’s a great place not just for dogs to exercise, but also for families to create special moments together. My son absolutely loved it and kept saying how fun it was swimming with our dog. Highly recommended for dog owners who want to give their dogs a great swim while spending quality family time together! 🐶💦

We always love a swim here, the water is clean, and the capacity is just nice for the dogs to have space. Segregated wet and dry areas and super happy now they have the dryers! Would be great if the wet area can be improved as most areas are tiled as it can be very slippery for the doggos and might cause slipping and injuries..

🌟 Kudos to Mutts & Mittens Active staff who were very vigilant and responsive to ensure the safety of all dogs. Our dog is easily anxious around other dogs and the staff on duty intercepted promptly whenever he observed other dogs running towards him. Our dog felt safe enough to enjoy his swimming session. Thank you! 🙁 As it is a shared facility, there are bound to be some owners who are complacent or slow to control their dogs. Facilities: ✅ Indoors and air-conditioned ✅ Heated pool ✅ Life vest for furkids ✅ Hot water shower and blow dryer for furkids ✅ Changing rooms for owners

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Fort Canine charge?

Grooming fees in Singapore typically vary by the pet's size, breed, and coat condition. A basic groom for a small dog may start from around S$50–S$80, while larger breeds or those with longer or denser coats can attract higher rates. Additional services such as de-shedding treatments, teeth brushing, nail trimming, and ear cleaning are usually priced separately and can add S$10–S$30 each to the base cost. It is worth confirming the full price breakdown with Fort Canine before your appointment, as coat matting, temperament handling, or special requests may incur surcharges. Ask whether transport is included if you require mobile or pickup services. See the full pet grooming cost guide for Singapore →

What vaccinations does Fort Canine require?

Most grooming providers in Singapore require dogs to be up to date on core vaccinations, typically the DHPP combination (distemper, hepatitis, parvovirus, and parainfluenza) as well as rabies. For cats, the FVRCP vaccine — covering feline viral rhinotracheitis, calicivirus, and panleukopenia — is the standard requirement. Where grooming overlaps with daycare or boarding, bordetella (kennel cough) vaccination is frequently required as well. Vaccinations are generally expected to have been administered within the past 12 months. Bring your pet's vaccination booklet or clinic-issued certificate to your first appointment. Contact Fort Canine directly to confirm their specific vaccination policy before arrival.

Is Fort Canine licensed and insured?

Grooming and boarding facilities in Singapore that keep animals on the premises are subject to licensing by the Animal and Veterinary Service (AVS) under the National Parks Board. This applies to any business housing animals overnight or operating a commercial grooming premises. It is advisable to ask Fort Canine directly whether they hold a valid AVS licence, particularly if you plan to leave your pet on-site. On the matter of insurance, confirm whether Fort Canine carries coverage for incidents such as a pet sustaining an injury or falling ill during a session. Ask about their protocol if your pet shows signs of distress or requires veterinary attention while in their care. Visit the facility, check the vaccination policy, and confirm insurance before drop-off.
