Groove Music School is a music education provider based at Goldhill Shopping Centre on Thomson Road, offering lessons islandwide. Prospective students or parents should enquire about level and syllabus fit — whether lessons are tailored to beginners, grade examination syllabuses (such as ABRSM or Trinity), or recreational playing. It is worth asking about available instruments and whether the school offers group lessons, semi-private, or one-to-one tuition, as these formats vary considerably in pace and cost. Confirming term commitment length, makeup lesson policy, and whether the school operates online or in-person sessions will help you decide if the arrangement suits your schedule. A trial class is the most reliable way to assess teaching style, level appropriateness, and whether the student is engaged before committing to a full term.
To take the next step, reach out to Groove Music School via WhatsApp, phone, or the enquiry form to ask about current availability for your preferred instrument and level, and to arrange a trial class at their Thomson Road centre.
Take the trial class and confirm the tutor's actual credentials before committing to a term.
I had a great experience learning keyboard/piano at Groove Music School over the past few months as a complete beginner with my teacher, AJ. AJ is patient, encouraging, fun to learn with, and clearly very talented and passionate about music. He’s also supportive if I’m ever unsure about something between lessons - just a message away and always happy to help. He lets me choose songs I like and then uses them to teach the underlying music theory. Makes it easier to understand and apply, and also keeps me motivated because I’m always learning something I enjoy. In a short span of time, I’ve already gained a much better understanding of the foundations of learning songs by ear and the common musical conventions behind them. Which is rewarding as a beginner. The learning environment at the school is also great. The space is cozy and welcoming, and everyone there is genuinely friendly, including admin. Unfortunately I have to pause lessons due to work commitments, but if I ever get the time again, I would definitely return. I highly recommend Groove Music School to anyone who wants to learn music. They really have everything you need to get started and enjoy the process.
I have been very pleased and learning so much with Teacher Aeden for vocal coaching. He makes me feel at ease as a beginner and he breaks down the concepts to simple things so that I can understand and practice. He also identifies specific details that I struggle with, and how to resolve them. I'm really happy to learn with him!
Aedan is a very professional vocal coach. In the first class, he quickly identified areas where I could improve. During the lessons, he provides systematic practice and helpful feedback, teaching me how to listen to myself and identify problems. His guidance on breath control and vocal projection has been especially helpful.
Elsa is a fantastic teacher. She knows just how to bring out your voice and she corrects your mistakes without making you lose confidence. Very encouraging. Definitely felt a lot of improvement working with her.
Trying to learn guitar for the first time here was a great experience! My instructor, Jobb, was very patient and encouraging while teaching me the basics. Thanks for all the help!😊

Groove Music School displays a mid-range ($$) price tier, though specific per-session or monthly package rates are not published on this listing. In Singapore, music tuition typically runs S$40–80 per session for group classes and S$60–150 per session for one-to-one lessons, depending on instrument, level, and teacher experience. Some schools charge on a per-session basis while others bundle fees into monthly or term packages. Additional costs to confirm include any registration or enrolment fee, materials such as books or sheet music, examination entry fees if you are working towards a grade certificate, and whether a trial class carries its own fee. Sibling discounts or multi-lesson package rates may also be available — ask directly. See the full Music Schools cost guide for Singapore →
Many music schools in Singapore offer a trial class, sometimes at a reduced rate or as part of the first session fee, before asking you to commit to a term or monthly package. A trial is the best way to gauge whether the teaching approach suits the student's age, existing ability, and learning goals. During a trial, pay attention to how the teacher explains concepts, how the student responds to correction, and whether the pace feels appropriate. For younger children, observe whether the teacher maintains engagement. For examination-track students, confirm that the teacher is familiar with the relevant syllabus — ABRSM, Trinity, or other boards. Contact Groove Music School directly to ask about their trial class policy and whether a fee applies before the first session.
Tutor credentials are not listed in the current provider data for Groove Music School. In the Singapore music tuition market, relevant qualifications to ask about include a diploma or degree in music performance or music education, graded examination distinctions (typically Grade 8 or ATCL/LTCL and above), and experience teaching the specific syllabus relevant to your goals. For younger learners or children preparing for examinations, ask whether the teacher has experience with the relevant board (ABRSM, Trinity, or LCM) and how many students they have entered for examinations. For adult learners pursuing recreational or jazz styles, teaching approach and repertoire breadth matter more than formal credentials. Groove Music School can be contacted via WhatsApp, phone, or their enquiry form to ask about individual teacher backgrounds before enrolling.
