GUG Preschool @ Katong has been an absolute blessing for our family! Sending my three kids there has been the best decision we've made. The teachers are incredibly welcoming and approachable, creating a warm and nurturing environment for the children. The variety of activities offered, from water play to yoga, cooking, and even robotics, ensuring that there's always something exciting happening. What's truly remarkable is how they've sparked my kids' interest in Chinese through engaging experiments, delightful songs, and captivating stories. It's truly an awesome place where learning knows no bounds!
We transferred Javier to GUG Katong from another childcare center at the start of his K2 year and he adapted very well to the new environment very quickly. Ms Yvelyn’s, the in-charge, commitment to early education and her belief in influencing the correct values to young children gave us confidence that our child is in good hands. The center teachers are patient and encouraging. My child’s favorite teacher was张老师. My boy made some close friends fairly quickly and loved the center so much that he balled his eyes out on his last day with the center in Dec 2023. Thank you GUG for giving Javier a wonderful K2 year. 👍
This pre-school is the best choice in the East for your toddler if you value quality care, good teaching techniques, staff members that really care for the well being of your precious ones over branding and fancy marketing. I really appreciate the years of taking great care of my kid by the principal Evelyn and the entire team. Kudos and my strong endorsement.
My son had been attending GUG Katong since N2… now K2. There’s not a day he doesn’t look forward to attending. The school offers wide range including science, yoga, robotics in additional to the regular literacy and numeracy programs. They conducts the classes with lots of fun and creativity into the lessons while preparing them for next level of education. Teachers and staff are friendly and approachable, best of all updates provided to parent’s almost daily! Had been a great help to me whenever I reached out to the Teachers about his behaviors and coaching / educating him! Jun Wei's gonna miss the GUG Katong family lots! Thank you!!
My 1st preschool for my child and I must say that it's really a great time with the school. This is like a big family to my daughter and myself. Everyone is so closely knitted, teachers, principal, director and all staff are so loving, dedicated and caring. My child used to be very shy and quiet, under the teacher's encouragement, she has opened up alot and is more expressive now. Excellent literacy and numeracy syllabus. The foundation in building their skills is excellent. She has no problem in coping with Primary 1 academically. Big thank you to Ms Zhang, Ms Yvelyn, 张老师,Teacher Siti, Teacher Mochi & all the staff in GUG. Thank you for making my child 's preschool journey a memorable one with many sweet memories to remember.

Growing Up Gifted (GUG) displays a mid-range price tier ($$), but specific monthly fee figures have not been published on this listing. When you make contact, ask for the full fee schedule covering monthly tuition, the one-time registration fee, and any refundable deposit (typically equivalent to two months' fees at many centres). You should also ask whether uniform and personal accident insurance are charged separately. Childcare and kindergarten fees in Singapore are GST-exempt, so the quoted amount should be the amount you pay. Fee levels vary by age group and programme type, so confirm the exact figure for your child's cohort directly with the centre. See the full childcare cost guide for Singapore →
Singapore citizen children attending a licensed childcare centre may be eligible for the Basic Subsidy — up to S$600 per month for infant care places and up to S$300 per month for childcare places. Working mothers employed for at least 56 hours per month may additionally qualify for the Working Mother's Child Care Subsidy (WMS). For lower-income households, the Additional Subsidy (means-tested) can bring the combined monthly support up to S$710 or more. For kindergarten programmes, the KidSTART Financial Assistance Scheme (KiFAS) provides additional support for eligible families. Permanent resident children receive partial subsidies at reduced rates. Subsidy quantum and eligibility criteria are updated periodically, so it is important to check the current figures directly with ECDA at ecda.gov.sg before making financial plans. Note that Growing Up Gifted (GUG) does not currently list an ECDA operating licence on this directory. Confirm directly with the centre that it is ECDA-licensed, as this is a prerequisite for subsidy eligibility.
Demand for preschool and kindergarten places in Singapore — particularly in established neighbourhoods like Katong — means that popular centres can fill months in advance. As a general guide, families are advised to enquire at least three to six months before the intended start date, and earlier still for infant care or January intake, which is the peak enrolment period for most programmes. Securing a place typically involves paying a registration fee and, once an offer is made, a deposit to confirm the slot. Neither fee is usually refundable if you withdraw. Contact Growing Up Gifted (GUG) directly via WhatsApp, phone, or the online form to ask about current availability for your child's age group and intended start month.
