About IROHA Kindergarten

About "IROHA Kindergarten"

IROHA Kindergarten is a preschool and kindergarten located at Stadium Walk in the Kallang area, listed on KakiList as verified and registered with ACRA. Its Google rating stands at 3.7 out of 5, though this is based on only 6 reviews and should be treated as directional rather than conclusive. The centre is priced at the mid-range ($$) tier for the Singapore childcare market.

Families considering IROHA Kindergarten are encouraged to enquire about available slots for their intended start month as early as possible, particularly for January intake, which is the peak enrolment period. When you reach out, ask about the infant-to-caregiver ratio, the daily routine and curriculum structure, and the settling-in process for younger children. It is also worth confirming whether the centre is ECDA-licensed, as this determines eligibility for government subsidies available to Singapore citizen children and, in part, to permanent residents.

To take the next step, contact IROHA Kindergarten directly by phone or via the enquiry form to check current availability, arrange a centre visit, and request the full fee schedule and parent contract before committing to enrolment. Our family has been with Iroha Japanese Kindergarten for over a year and a half now, and we couldn’t be more pleased with the experience. Neither my husband nor I speak a word of Japanese, but Iroha has truly exceeded our expectations in many ways. Location & Facilities: We were drawn to the surrounding environment, particularly the Singapore Stadium area. It’s a rare find—a fully sheltered space with no motorized vehicles, right next to an MRT station. It’s perfect for young children, providing both safety and convenience. Language Acquisition: One of the most impressive aspects is how effortlessly our son has learned Japanese. He speaks it fluently, almost like a native. As adults, we know how challenging it can be to pick up a new language, so seeing our child learn it naturally has been incredible. Cultural Exposure: Every day, our son is immersed in Japanese culture—from the food to the customs. We are particularly impressed by the school’s attention to detail and the politeness of both the staff and the children. The teachers are not only kind and nurturing but also exceptionally friendly, soft-spoken, and genuinely dedicated to the children’s well-being. Diverse & Inclusive Environment: Kudos to the management team under Mr. David! The student body is diverse and international, and children never feel like outsiders—even if they don’t speak Japanese. It’s a wonderful environment for families from all walks of life. We highly recommend Iroha Japanese Kindergarten to not only Japanese families but also to local Singaporeans and expats who appreciate Japanese culture and values. It’s truly a special place for young children to grow and learn.

Teachers change very often and dealing with the new school bus service provider is an every day ordeal. Changing ownership has not been good so far. The new owners, assuming they care about the families’ and children’s safety and welfare, have to step in before it’s too late.

Kids are out of control. Sitting at the cafe downstairs can witness alot of horror. Maybe they should educate the Japanese parents on how to manage, at the same time educating their kids.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does "IROHA Kindergarten" charge per month?

IROHA Kindergarten is listed at a mid-range ($$) price point, but a specific monthly fee has not been published on this listing. When you enquire, ask for the full fee breakdown including any one-time registration fee, a deposit (typically equivalent to one to two months of fees), and any additional costs for uniform or personal accident insurance. Childcare and kindergarten fees in Singapore are GST-exempt, so the figure quoted should be the amount you pay. Fee levels can vary depending on the programme type (half-day versus full-day) and the child's age group, so confirm which applies to your child. See the full childcare cost guide for Singapore →

What subsidies can I claim at "IROHA Kindergarten"?

Subsidy eligibility depends primarily on whether the centre holds an ECDA licence — contact IROHA Kindergarten directly to confirm this before assuming subsidies apply. For ECDA-licensed centres, Singapore citizen children may be eligible for the Basic Subsidy (up to S$300 per month for childcare, or up to S$600 per month for infant care), and working mothers who work at least 56 hours per month may qualify for the Additional Working Mother's Child Care Subsidy on top of that. An income-tested Additional Subsidy can bring combined support up to approximately S$710 per month for lower-income households. Kindergartens operating under the KiFAS scheme offer separate fee assistance. Permanent resident children receive partial subsidies at lower quantum. Subsidy amounts are subject to change — always check the ECDA website for the most current figures before making financial plans.

Is there a waitlist at "IROHA Kindergarten"?

Popular preschools and kindergartens in Singapore can fill up quickly, particularly for the January intake at the start of each calendar year. For infant care places especially, it is not unusual for families to enquire six to twelve months ahead; for nursery and kindergarten levels, three to six months is a reasonable lead time. To secure a place, centres typically require a registration fee and, upon acceptance, a deposit. Neither payment should be made before you have visited the centre and reviewed the parent contract. Contact IROHA Kindergarten directly by phone or via the enquiry form to ask about current vacancies for your child's age group and your preferred start date.
