When visiting Island Veterinary Clinic, it helps to come prepared with your pet's vaccination records, any previous treatment history, and notes on recent behavioural or health changes. Whether you are bringing in a dog, cat, or small animal, informing the clinic of your pet's breed, size, and temperament ahead of the appointment allows the team to prepare appropriately. If your pet is anxious or has had difficult clinic experiences before, mentioning this when you call or submit the contact form gives the team a chance to advise on how to make the visit smoother. For ongoing care, ask about follow-up scheduling and whether the clinic offers any recurring health plans.

This is my second time visiting the clinic to get my dear Lolly spayed and everything went smoothly. The team explained everything thoroughly and what made us feel even more comfortable was the constant reminder that we could ask questions at any time regarding anything related to our cats. It really shows how sincere they are and how willing the team is to help us care for our fur babies. Due to their service being genuine and positive for us to gain much trust, we are glad to announce that we’ve chosen Island Vet as our permanent clinic for the kiddos too! 😁 Thank you once again Island Vet team! It’s been a lovely journey and here’s to many more visits 🩷
We first came to this clinic in 2016 and had a really good experience. We continued coming back for a few years after that, and recently returned with our newest 9-month-old cat for sterilisation. The care was just as reassuring and professional as before. Even with other clinics nearby, we still trust this one. Highly recommend! 🐾
I got to know Dr Poon through a friend, and it turned out to be the best recommendation ever. I could feel her genuine love and compassion for animals, and she has always cared for my furbaby as if she were her own. My furbaby battled kidney disease and multiple health issues, and Dr Poon patiently and lovingly managed her condition for six long years. Although my furbaby has recently crossed the rainbow bridge, my heart is filled with deep gratitude for Dr Poon, Douglas, and her wonderful team. Thank you for the kindness, dedication, and exceptional care you gave. It truly meant the world to me and Hippo. Wishing the Island Vet team continued success and blessings. 🤍
Thank you so much for the incredible care shown by the Island Vet team! My senior cat had to go for dental surgery and the team reassured me that they would do everything they can to keep him safe. The vet called me to inform me that he needed extractions before going ahead with them. Once they were done, doctor sent me an extensive post-op care plan. I was anxious because of my cat’s aggressive behaviour at vets but regained confidence thanks to Dr Ming, Dr Lee and the receptionists. Tiger seems to be recovering well now. 💕
Amazing service and great customer care! I recently moved to the west and was looking for a new vet to take care of my baby and i found this clinic! I am so happy that i came here because Dr Hannah was the best vet i could ask for. I love how she talks to my cat and it makes me feel like she genuinely cares. Plus she comes up with cost effective measures haha. Will be coming back here in the future too!

If you are bringing your pet to Island Veterinary Clinic for boarding, daycare, or grooming services in addition to veterinary care, proof of current vaccinations is typically required. For dogs, this usually means DHPP (distemper, hepatitis, parvovirus, parainfluenza) and rabies, with bordetella often required where dogs will be in close contact with others. For cats, FVRCP (feline viral rhinotracheitis, calicivirus, panleukopenia) is the standard. Vaccination records are generally expected to be dated within the past 12 months. Bring your pet's vaccination booklet or a letter from a previous vet to your appointment. Contact Island Veterinary Clinic directly to confirm which vaccinations are required for the specific service you need.
