About "Josephine Koh Piano Academy"
Josephine Koh Piano Academy is a music school based at 29B Binjai Park, Singapore 589831, offering piano tuition with islandwide coverage. The academy is KakiList-verified and ACRA-registered, and holds a Google rating of 4.7 out of 5, though this is based on 12 reviews, so it should be treated as directional rather than conclusive. Pricing is indicated at the mid-range tier ($$).
Prospective students or parents should enquire about the level and syllabus fit — whether lessons are aligned to ABRSM, Trinity College London, or an informal recreational programme. It is worth confirming whether lessons are offered one-to-one or in small groups, and whether tuition is conducted in-person at the Binjai Park studio or online. Before committing to a term, ask about trial lesson availability, the term structure and minimum commitment, and whether any materials or examination fees are charged separately.
To take the next step, reach out to Josephine Koh Piano Academy via WhatsApp, phone, or the enquiry form to ask about current availability, confirm the syllabus and format that suits your child's age and level, and arrange a trial lesson before committing to a full term.
Take the trial class and confirm the tutor's actual credentials before committing to a term.
I asked for lessons and immediately was denied because they expect a 9 yo to be grade 2-3 and as my daugther is begning to study she wouldnt be considered gifted for her age. She is in grade 1 as she just begun a year ago. This should be explained in the website and it densestoes not sound "holistic" as advertised.

Josephine Koh Piano Academy is priced at the mid-range tier ($$), but specific per-session or monthly rates are not publicly listed. Piano tuition in Singapore typically runs from around S$40–80 per session for group lessons and S$60–150 or more per session for one-to-one tuition, depending on the teacher's experience and the student's grade level. Some academies offer term-based packages rather than per-session pricing, which may work out to a lower effective rate. It is worth asking whether a trial lesson is available, what the fee for that trial is, and whether any materials, examination entry fees, or graded syllabus books are charged separately. Sibling discounts or package rates for multiple sessions per week may also be available. See the full Music Schools cost guide for Singapore →
Many piano academies and private music schools in Singapore offer a trial lesson before a student enrols for a full term. It is advisable to ask Josephine Koh Piano Academy directly whether a trial is available, whether it is charged at the standard session rate or offered at a reduced fee, and what the trial involves. During or after a trial lesson, parents and students should assess whether the teaching style matches the student's learning personality, whether the level assigned is appropriate, and whether the student feels engaged and comfortable with the teacher. A single trial lesson is usually sufficient to gauge fit before committing to a term. If a formal trial is not offered, ask if you can sit in on a short introductory session or schedule a brief consultation with the teacher before paying.
Specific qualification details for the instructor at Josephine Koh Piano Academy are not publicly listed on this directory. Parents are encouraged to ask directly about the teacher's formal music qualifications — such as a diploma or degree from a recognised conservatory or music college — as well as any graded examination experience with bodies like ABRSM or Trinity College London. It is also useful to ask how long the instructor has been teaching, which age groups and grade levels they specialise in, and whether they have experience preparing students for formal examinations versus recreational playing. Years of active teaching practice and a track record with students at a similar level to your child are practical indicators of suitability. If credentials are not readily shared, that is a reasonable point to clarify before committing to a term.
