Take the trial class and confirm the tutor's actual credentials before committing to a term.
Highly recommend this music school. My son started with music & movement group classes when he was a preschooler, progressed to individual piano & violin lessons, and eventually completed his diploma studies at Mandeville. It was such a wonderful learning journey for him. He had many opportunities to perform … be it in small groups or at school concerts. Teachers at Mandeville are all so nurturing & supportive. Friends who have enrolled based on my recommendation echoed my sentiment.
Two of my kids learned violin from Mandeville since they were young. They are now teenagers. We experienced many of the different classes. The baby violin classes was a great way for them to learn to listen and feel, excellent bonding between parent and child, as well as peer learning and interaction for the kid. The individual violin classes when they grew older catered to each student's learning pace and interest in music genre. Students were spoilt for choice in selecting from so many good teachers. Really impressed by the efforts and opportunities created by the school. They really have an intentional and well planned curriculum which is committed to developing each child. Kids were given the opportunity to play as a group (either with same or different instruments) in school concerts and even overseas. My kids joined many groups and benefited from coordination and friendships. We went on several performance trips (even all the way to Vienna) to different countries and made strong friendships through the years. The friends have been so inspired by music and their time together that they formed their own music group to play together even up to now. The oldest is in university already. The recent Eminence concert brought back many memories. The whole family attended and marvelled at the young talents as well as relived our memories. My 18 year old daughter asked me afterwards: Mummy, how did you choose Mandeville to send us to? It's really a very good school. Well done Mandeville!!! Thank you for making a difference in so many kid's lives.
My son switched to Mandeville two months ago. Mr Tim helped him transit very well! He improved very much in dynamics and the music theory. Mr Tim introduced diffferent styles of the music to my son and enriched him with the knowledge to fulfill his curiosity. So he is much motivated to practise at home on a daily basis.
Both my sons are currently taking piano lessons with Teacher Chia Hui. She is patient and places strong emphasis on building a solid foundation. My boys enjoy her lessons and have shown great progress under her guidance.
Our daughter Kaylee is taking Grade 5 piano and theory at Mandeville Conservatory of Music, and we've been incredibly impressed with her progress under Teacher Tim at the United Square branch. Kaylee has shown quick improvement, and her interest in music has truly blossomed since she started. Teacher Tim has a special way of connecting with kids, making each lesson engaging and fun while fostering a genuine love for music. We’re thrilled to see Kaylee’s confidence grow as she advances, and we couldn’t ask for a better foundation in music. Mandeville is the perfect place for children who are just beginning or already progressing in their musical journey, and we highly recommend it

Mandeville Conservatory of Music displays a mid-range price indicator ($$), but specific per-session, monthly package, or term fee figures are not publicly listed. Fees at music schools in Singapore typically vary depending on the instrument, the student's grade level, and whether lessons are one-to-one or group-based. One-to-one lessons with experienced teachers generally run higher than group classes. It is worth asking about trial class fees, any materials or examination registration costs charged separately, and whether sibling or multi-subject discounts apply. Some schools charge a registration or administrative fee on enrolment. Confirm all costs in writing before committing to a term. See the full Music Schools cost guide for Singapore →
Many music schools in Singapore offer a trial lesson — sometimes at a reduced rate, sometimes at the standard per-session fee — to allow the student and teacher to assess compatibility before a term commitment is made. It is advisable to contact Mandeville Conservatory of Music directly to ask whether a trial class is available for your chosen instrument and level. During a trial, pay attention to whether the pace feels appropriate, whether the teacher's style suits the student's personality and learning approach, and whether the lesson content aligns with the examination syllabus or personal goals you have in mind. A single trial session is usually enough to form a clear initial impression before signing up for a full term.
Specific teacher qualifications and experience are not listed in the publicly available information for Mandeville Conservatory of Music. When enquiring, it is reasonable to ask about each teacher's formal music education, performance background, years of teaching experience, and familiarity with the relevant examination board syllabus — whether ABRSM, Trinity College London, or another body. If your child is preparing for graded examinations, confirm that the assigned teacher has a track record with that specific board and grade range. For adults learning for personal enjoyment, teaching style and communication fit may matter more than formal credentials. Contact the school directly to ask about the teacher who would be assigned to you or your child.
