About "My First Skool"
My First Skool is a childcare provider operating islandwide across Singapore, with a centre at Blk 19 Jln Sultan, #01-180. The listing is KakiList verified and ACRA registered, which confirms that operating details and business registration have been cross-checked. The centre holds a Google rating of 4.5 out of 5, though this is based on 14 reviews — a small sample, so treat it as directional rather than definitive. Fees are displayed at the $$ price tier; contact the centre directly to confirm the current monthly rate and any additional charges.
When enquiring about a place, it is worth asking about available slots for your intended start month, the infant-to-caregiver ratio, how the daily routine is structured, and what the settling-in period looks like for younger children. Parents of Singapore citizen children should also ask about ECDA childcare subsidies, including the Basic Subsidy and Working Mother's Child Care Subsidy, as eligibility can meaningfully reduce out-of-pocket costs each month. Bring along your child's birth certificate and any relevant documents when you visit the centre so staff can give you an accurate fee and subsidy breakdown.
The clearest next step is to reach out via WhatsApp, phone, or the enquiry form to check slot availability for your preferred start month and arrange a centre visit before committing.
Visit the centre in person, meet the lead teacher, and read the parent contract before signing.

My little one attends playgroup here, and it’s been such a delight to see him happily walk into the campus each day without any stress or fuss. During those first few weeks, my spouse and I visited his classroom multiple times a day to check on him, and the principal and teachers were always so understanding and supportive—they never once made us feel unwelcome. This gave me/us the peace of mind to focus on work, knowing my son was in the safe and caring hands of teachers who consistently show kindness and attentiveness to all the children. I also love how thoughtfully [My First Skool] integrates good ventilation and open spaces, allowing the kids to enjoy natural sunlight and connect with the outside world rather than confined to a bright, closed-off room. As we prepare to relocate to another branch, we’ll truly miss this campus. Teachers Fifi and Laoshi have been my son’s favorites, and I can wholeheartedly vouch for their exceptional care, dedication, and warmth.
Title: Disappointing Experience - Lack of Engagement & Orientation Rating: 1/5 I'm extremely disappointed with First Skool's service. As a parent, I expect engagement and support, but it was lacking. The orientation was nonexistent, and teachers seemed disengaged from both my son and me. The absence of local teachers is a significant drawback. I believe having more local staff would benefit the school. Three incidents raised serious concerns: 1. The Chinese teacher's unhygienic diaper-changing practices pose potential health risks. 2. A Filipino teacher in Infant Care nearly hit my son while rushing past the playgroup class, compromising safety. 3. During outdoor activities, PMD bikes were speeding, and individuals with roller equipment were walking around, creating safety hazards. Given these issues, I wouldn't recommend First Skool for a nurturing environment. Hopefully, they'll address these concerns and improve.
Our daughter has been going to MFS for almost 3 years now and she's absolutely loves it. Shes enjoying all the activities and the care of her teachers. The teachers are kind, thoughtful and will always update you on important events. Teacher Di from nursery has been really great to our daughter from day 1.

My First Skool is listed at the $$ price tier; contact the centre directly to confirm the exact monthly fee, as rates can vary by age group and programme. When reviewing the full cost, ask about the one-time registration fee, the deposit (typically equivalent to two months of fees), and any charges for uniforms or personal accident insurance — these are common across Singapore childcare centres. Childcare fees at ECDA-licensed centres are GST-exempt, which is worth confirming when you receive your fee schedule. Subsidies can substantially reduce the net amount you pay each month, so it is advisable to ask the centre about your eligibility at the same time. See the full childcare cost guide for Singapore →
Singapore citizen children enrolled in a licensed childcare centre may be eligible for the Basic Subsidy — up to S$600 per month for infant care or S$300 per month for childcare — regardless of household income. Working mothers who clock 56 or more hours per month may also qualify for the Working Mother's Child Care Subsidy, which provides an additional means-tested reduction. Combined with the Additional Subsidy for lower-income households, total support can reach up to S$710 per month. For kindergarten programmes, the KiFAS (Kindergarten Financial Assistance Scheme) is available for eligible families. Permanent resident children may qualify for partial subsidies, though at lower quantum than citizens. Subsidy amounts are reviewed periodically, so visit the ECDA website for current figures and use their subsidy calculator to estimate your household's entitlement before enrolment.
Demand for childcare places in Singapore — particularly infant care — is high, and popular centres often have waitlists stretching three to twelve months ahead. January is the peak intake month, so families targeting that cohort should begin enquiring well in advance, ideally by the middle of the preceding year. To secure a place, centres typically require a registration fee and a deposit once an offer is made. It is advisable to contact My First Skool directly to ask about current availability for your child's age group and intended start date, rather than assuming a place is open. If the Jln Sultan centre does not have immediate availability, ask whether other My First Skool locations islandwide have slots — this can widen your options without changing provider.
