About My First Skool

About My First Skool

My First Skool is a childcare and infant care provider operating islandwide across Singapore, including a centre at Blk 19 Jln Sultan, #01-180, Singapore 190019. The listing is KakiList verified and ACRA registered. It carries a Google rating of 4.5 out of 5, though this is based on 14 reviews — a small sample, so treat the rating as directional rather than conclusive. Fees are priced at the mid-range tier ($$) on a monthly recurring basis, which is the standard model for centre-based childcare in Singapore.

Families considering My First Skool should begin by enquiring about available slots for their intended start month, as infant care places in particular can be in high demand. When you contact the centre, ask about the infant-to-caregiver ratio, the daily routine for your child's age group, and the settling-in period the centre follows to help younger children adjust. It is also worth discussing ECDA subsidies early in the conversation, as eligible Singapore citizen children may qualify for significant monthly fee reductions depending on household income and the mother's working status.

The most practical next step is to reach out via WhatsApp, phone, or the online enquiry form to check current vacancy for your child's intended enrolment month, then arrange an in-person centre visit to meet the lead teachers and review the parent contract before making any commitment.

My little one attends playgroup here, and it’s been such a delight to see him happily walk into the campus each day without any stress or fuss. During those first few weeks, my spouse and I visited his classroom multiple times a day to check on him, and the principal and teachers were always so understanding and supportive—they never once made us feel unwelcome. This gave me/us the peace of mind to focus on work, knowing my son was in the safe and caring hands of teachers who consistently show kindness and attentiveness to all the children. I also love how thoughtfully [My First Skool] integrates good ventilation and open spaces, allowing the kids to enjoy natural sunlight and connect with the outside world rather than confined to a bright, closed-off room. As we prepare to relocate to another branch, we’ll truly miss this campus. Teachers Fifi and Laoshi have been my son’s favorites, and I can wholeheartedly vouch for their exceptional care, dedication, and warmth.

Title: Disappointing Experience - Lack of Engagement & Orientation Rating: 1/5 I'm extremely disappointed with First Skool's service. As a parent, I expect engagement and support, but it was lacking. The orientation was nonexistent, and teachers seemed disengaged from both my son and me. The absence of local teachers is a significant drawback. I believe having more local staff would benefit the school. Three incidents raised serious concerns: 1. The Chinese teacher's unhygienic diaper-changing practices pose potential health risks. 2. A Filipino teacher in Infant Care nearly hit my son while rushing past the playgroup class, compromising safety. 3. During outdoor activities, PMD bikes were speeding, and individuals with roller equipment were walking around, creating safety hazards. Given these issues, I wouldn't recommend First Skool for a nurturing environment. Hopefully, they'll address these concerns and improve.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does My First Skool charge per month?

My First Skool operates on a monthly recurring fee model, positioned at the mid-range ($$) tier for Singapore childcare. Precise figures are not published on this listing, so you will need to contact the centre directly for the current rate applicable to your child's age group, as infant care fees differ from toddler and childcare fees. Beyond the monthly fee, ask about the one-time registration fee, the deposit (typically equivalent to one to two months' fees), and any costs for uniforms or personal accident insurance. Childcare and infant care fees at ECDA-licensed centres are GST-exempt, so no GST should be added to your invoice. See the full childcare cost guide for Singapore →

What subsidies can I claim at My First Skool?

Singapore citizen children enrolled at an ECDA-licensed centre may qualify for the Basic Subsidy — up to S$600 per month for infant care and up to S$300 per month for childcare. Working mothers who clock 56 hours or more of employment per month may additionally qualify for the Working Mother's Child Development Subsidy, which provides further reduction on top of the Basic Subsidy. Families with lower household incomes may also qualify for the Additional Subsidy, which is income-tested and can bring combined monthly support to up to S$710 or more at the infant care level. Singapore Permanent Resident children receive partial subsidies at lower quantum. Subsidy rates are reviewed periodically, so always check directly with ECDA at go.gov.sg/ecda for the most current figures before enrolment.

Is there a waitlist at My First Skool?

Infant care places in Singapore are among the most competitive in the childcare sector, and it is advisable to enquire three to twelve months ahead of your intended start date. January is the peak intake month for most centres, so families targeting the new year should begin the process by the second or third quarter of the preceding year. To secure a place, you will typically need to pay a registration fee and, once offered a slot, a deposit to hold it. My First Skool has multiple centres islandwide, so availability may vary between locations. Contact the Jln Sultan centre directly — or ask about nearby branches — to get an accurate picture of current vacancy for your child's age group.
