Brought in my senior doggie for an emergency during a very busy evening, and was really touched by the care Dr Tong provided. We were the last appointment of a very packed , and long day, and Dr Tong treated our dog with care, patience, and just had the sweetest fresh demeanor - I felt like the first client of the day and not the last. So thankful for the support and our dog responded really well to the treatment.
So grateful I was recommended this vet. Have been using them for almost 3 years and although we’ve moved from the locality we still use this clinic. Vet Amanda and team are true animal lovers with excellent customer service. Highly recommend them for your fur babies. They will be well taken care of. Prices are no worse than anywhere else. Easy to get appointments. Recently refurbished so very clean and light and spacious.
My family likes Dr Amanda very much. She has a calm and steady disposition, listens attentively, and communicates clearly. We also appreciate her honesty — when a test was suggested, she advised us to hold off as it wasn’t immediately necessary. This showed us that she truly has my dog’s best interests at heart, and is mindful of our costs as well.
Dr Amanda has excellent bedside manners, is patient, a great listener and able to explain the situation very well. Neither is she pushy for unnecessary tests. The rest of the team is also friendly and welcoming. This makes the entire experience a good one to have, especially when I am already stressed out by a sick pet.
I am writing to share my experience with Namly Vet, as I recently lost my five and a half year old dog due to a stroke. On July 30, I brought my dog to Namly Vet after noticing uncontrollable twitching in her limbs. When I presented my dog to Dr. Lucy Sham, my dog’s legs were not twitching. But I showed her the video of my dog’s uncontrollable twitching that happened just 30min before. We asked Dr. Sham if our dog was having a stroke. After Dr Sham examined her, she reassured us that it wasn’t a stroke. She diagnosed a sprained right shoulder and administered 2 pain shots. Dr. Sham gave my dog a whole week’s worth of pain killers and also suggested considering knee surgery in the future. After the 2 pain shots, my dog was breathing very hard at home – I thought that my dog was in great pain and this was the effects of the medication. The next morning, my dog was motionless and her tongue was sticking out. I returned to Namly Vet, where another vet examined her and determined she was in critical condition. My dog received oxygen and underwent blood tests before I rushed her to VES Hospital. Unfortunately, she spent six days in the ICU before passing away. As a professional, Dr. Sham could have provided guidance on potential symptoms and side effects, which might have helped us make more informed decisions. Instead of dismissing the possibility of a stroke, she could have advised us on warning signs that would warrant immediate hospital attention. As first-time dog owners, we were unsure of how to proceed. After my dog’s death, I visited Namly Vet to discuss the incident and give them feedback on what happened. Dr. Amanda Lim was the one who attended to me and she arranged a meeting for discussion. When we met Dr. Lim for the discussion, she told us that after assessing the situation, it would make no difference even if my dog had been rushed earlier to the hospital that night. I am troubled by her certainty because even VES Hospital could not provide a definitive diagnosis. Such sweeping statements should not be made if one is not entirely sure. Dr. Lim even said that she is not going to be responsible for anything. My heart is heavy. Now even after almost a month, I still find it hard to accept that my five and a half year old healthy and very active poodle is gone.

Veterinary consultation fees in Singapore typically range from around S$30–S$80 for a standard visit, though this varies depending on the type of animal, the nature of the consultation, and any diagnostics or treatments required. Namly Veterinary Surgery is listed in the mid-range pricing tier, so fees are likely in line with or slightly above basic clinic rates. Additional costs to factor in may include vaccinations, blood panels, X-rays, medications, or specialist referrals, all of which are billed separately from the base consultation. For a precise breakdown, contact the clinic directly before your visit to ask about consultation fees and any expected add-on costs. See the full Veterinary Clinics cost guide for Singapore →
For dogs, core vaccinations typically include the DHPP combination (distemper, hepatitis, parvovirus, parainfluenza) and, where applicable, rabies. Bordetella (kennel cough) is frequently required if your dog attends boarding or daycare facilities. For cats, the FVRCP vaccine (feline viral rhinotracheitis, calicivirus, and panleukopenia) is standard. Most clinics and boarding providers in Singapore expect vaccinations to have been administered within the past 12 months. If your pet is overdue or has an incomplete vaccination history, a veterinary clinic such as Namly Veterinary Surgery can advise on an appropriate catch-up schedule. Bring your pet's existing vaccination booklet or records to the first appointment so the vet can review what has already been administered.
Veterinary practices in Singapore operate under the oversight of the National Parks Board (NParks) and the Animal and Veterinary Service (AVS), which regulates veterinary professionals and facilities. Licensed veterinary surgeons must be registered with the Singapore Veterinary Council (SVC). No specific licences are listed in Namly Veterinary Surgery's current KakiList profile, so it is advisable to confirm the registration status of the attending veterinarian directly with the clinic or via the SVC public register. Regarding insurance, veterinary clinics are not required to hold pet insurance on your behalf, but reputable practices typically carry professional indemnity coverage. If your pet undergoes a procedure, ask the clinic about their protocol in the event of an adverse outcome. Visit the facility and confirm these details before proceeding with treatment.
