Families considering Newman International Academy should begin by enquiring about available slots for their intended start month, as places — particularly for younger age groups — can be limited. When you contact the centre by phone or through the enquiry form, ask about the daily routine, the infant-to-caregiver ratio, the settling-in period, and how the curriculum is structured across the preschool and kindergarten years. Amazing new preschool. Visited during the opening and my kids didn’t want to leave anymore. The curriculum which is a mix of English, Chinese and French is wonderful for people who wants to have more options and Maria is truly the best person to care about children education and wellbeing, driven with energy and passion. On top of that, the outdoor area and activities are definitely a plus!
I attended an event today at lumina school about children and nutrition and I came with both my 2 under 2, it was so nice. I loved the space, the atmosphere was cozy and very kids friendly and bright! My daughter absolutely loved playing there and the workshop was very insightful. Would be happy to join other events in the future! School is a dream from toddler and children
Having toured many schools, what stood out to us was the bright and beautiful space Lumina has, open communication between the school and parents. And the opportunity to learn the French language, a bonus! We were attracted to Lumina’s philosophy & emphasis on social emotional learning which we believe is so important in the current times. Maria’s image of child is clear in the way she speaks of children - believing they’re competent, giving them space and respecting their needs. Our child, who has never been to school, has eased beautifully into the school & routine and we cannot be more grateful. As parents, we felt extremely reassured with the updates and know that our child is in a safe, respectful environment which we know he will thrive in.
As both a mother and a friend, I’ve had the privilege of seeing the incredible work behind Lumina school. What I appreciate most is that the innovation here isn’t just for show: it's grounded in real pedagogical research and years of thoughtful experience. Maria, the founder and director, has always had a natural gift for teaching, but what makes her stand out is how deeply she understands learning itself. Her approach is creative without ever losing structure or purpose, and you can feel how carefully every detail has been designed. She brings a wonderfully warm, approachable personality to her work while maintaining a high level of professionalism. It’s rare to find someone who combines kindness, expertise, and genuine vision in this way. A fantastic environment for children to grow, learn, and feel truly understood. Highly recommended.
Lumina is truly a school of life, where young children are immersed in a rich plurilingual environment from an early age. There is no better place to develop both academic foundations and social skills. The teaching team is deeply committed to providing outstanding educational support and attentive care. They nurture each child’s confidence, curiosity, and love of learning, creating a safe and inspiring space where children truly thrive.

Newman International Academy is indicated at a mid-range price point ($$), though a specific monthly fee has not been published on this listing. For licensed childcare centres in Singapore, monthly fees typically range from around S$1,200 to S$2,000 before subsidies, depending on the age group and hours of care. When enquiring, ask whether there is a one-time registration fee, a refundable deposit (commonly two months' fees), and any charges for uniforms or insurance. Childcare fees at ECDA-licensed centres are GST-exempt, so the quoted fee should be the amount you pay. Confirm all charges in writing before signing the enrolment contract. Singapore citizen children enrolled at ECDA-licensed childcare centres may qualify for the Basic Subsidy — up to S$600 per month for infant care and up to S$300 per month for childcare. Working mothers who clock 56 or more hours per month may additionally qualify for the Working Mother's Child Care Subsidy (WMS). For lower-income families, the Additional Subsidy can bring total combined support up to S$710 per month, subject to household income assessment. Kindergartens operating under ECDA's KiFAS scheme offer means-tested fee assistance for Singaporean children in the K1 and K2 years. Permanent resident children may be eligible for partial subsidies at lower quantum. Subsidy rates are reviewed periodically, so contact ECDA directly or visit the ECDA website for the most current figures before making your enrolment decision. Note that subsidy eligibility depends on the centre holding the relevant ECDA licence — confirm this with Newman International Academy before applying.
Waitlists at popular preschools and kindergartens in Singapore are common, particularly for infant care and nursery places. It is generally advisable to enquire at least three to six months ahead of your intended start date, and up to twelve months ahead if you are seeking an infant care spot. January is the peak intake month for most centres, so families targeting that period should begin their enquiries in the preceding year. To secure a place, centres typically require payment of a registration fee and, upon confirmation, a deposit. Contact Newman International Academy directly by phone or through the enquiry form to ask about current availability for your child's age group and intended start month.
