About Primus Schoolhouse

About "Primus Schoolhouse"

Primus Schoolhouse is a preschool and kindergarten provider listed on KakiList, operating at its centre on Bukit Tinggi Road in Singapore. The listing is KakiList verified and ACRA registered. It carries a Google rating of 4.6 out of 5, though this is based on 9 reviews — a small sample, so treat it as directional rather than definitive. Fees are indicated at the mid-range price tier ($$).

Families considering Primus Schoolhouse would typically begin by enquiring about available slots for their intended start month, as places — particularly for younger age groups — can be limited. When you contact the centre, ask about the daily routine, infant-to-caregiver ratios, the settling-in approach for new children, and the curriculum framework in use. It is also worth confirming whether the centre participates in ECDA subsidy schemes, as Singapore citizen children enrolled in licensed childcare centres may be eligible for the Basic Subsidy and, where applicable, the Working Mother's Child Care Subsidy.

The most practical next step is to reach out directly via phone or the enquiry form listed on this page, ask about current vacancy for your child's intended start month, and arrange a centre visit before making any commitment.

With our son’s current school set to close for building renovations, we were fortunate to discover Primus Schoolhouse through fellow parents who were considering a transfer. From the moment we inquired, the experience has been nothing short of exceptional. The teachers and staff were incredibly warm, welcoming, and responsive—patiently addressing all our questions and making us feel confident in our decision from day one. That warmth extended throughout our son’s two-year journey in N2 and K1. He absolutely loved going to school each day, and spoke so fondly of his teachers, classmates, and the many friends he made across different levels. We were constantly amazed by his growth—not just academically in reading, math, Mandarin, and creative expression like drawing and music—but also in sports and, most importantly, his social development. His confidence blossomed, and his joy was evident in every open house and school concert. We always looked forward to seeing him and his friends in action, and marveled at the thoughtful work displayed throughout the classroom. What makes Primus truly special is the sense of community. Our son didn’t just make friends in his class—he built connections with older and younger students, as well as their teachers. It’s a nurturing environment where every child is known, supported, and celebrated. We are deeply grateful for the incredible two years we spent with Primus Schoolhouse. It will always hold a very special place in our hearts. Until we meet again! 😊

They have very good school equipment. My kids are very happy to be here (and that matters the most) We don’t speak Chinese at home so each time they both come back speaking Chinese to us is such a wonderful achievement. They will be our future Chinese translators 🥰

I had the privilege of coming across Primus Schoolhouse Bukit Timah when the school was still under construction. I met the founder of the school and took a tour. While I wasn’t sure about the execution of the school setup at that moment, I was convinced by the founder and all the teachers who had already been recruited. Fast forward three months, our elder boy was enrolled at 24 months, and the superb team of educators eased him into the new environment. He was a reserved boy who I thought had a speech delay, but none of that mattered, as in the span of six months, he blossomed and graduated after Kindergarten 2 and is still thriving now. Our younger son joined his brother at Primus Schoolhouse and grew not only academically but also socially and emotionally. At one point, I took our younger boy out to an international school alongside his kindergarten-graduated brother for my own convenience of having two boys in the same school. Nonetheless, I quickly realized that no other environment offers the same early years journey as Primus Schoolhouse. Our younger son rejoined the school to complete his kindergarten journey at Primus with all the outstanding team of educators whom I first met during that “construction” phase of the school. The low turnover of teachers, generous outdoor space, and teacher-to-student ratio make it ideal for any parents who are looking for the best environment for their little ones. As they say, it takes a village to raise a kid; I found mine with the outstanding team of educators at Primus Schoolhouse Bukit Timah.

Highly recommended for your little ones! Our 2.5-year old attended a week-long holiday programme during her vacation from her regular international preschool, just before Circuit Breaker. Having witnessed a range of diverse learning experiences at a few other early childhood education centres here, I am impressed by Repton Schoolhouse because of: (1) the school leadership, particularly of Vice-Principal Ms Monica Xavier, (2) the enthusiastic, well-informed and highly professional educators, (3) efficiency and prompt communication of school administrators, and (4) welcoming, play-oriented and virtues-based learning environment. We particularly like the bilingual focus, with exceptional Chinese teachers. The homeroom teachers are highly skilled and encourage reading, singing, craft-work and play through creative and fun ways! I have read reviews about Repton Schoolhouse elsewhere that the fees are high - True, but we have experienced nothing short of a high-quality education for what we had invested. But also be rest assured that this is not any other capitalist organisation - one example, although our daughter's enrolment ended when the Circuit Breaker started, the teachers and Vice-Principal Ms Monica invited our daughter to continue on with the home-based learning package without any additional payment! Our daughter even got a care package to bring home! As an educator myself, that's the spirit of true education. One other plus point is that meals for the children are catered from The New Luncher - their meals are so healthy, tasty (our daughter eats multiple portions), and thoughtfully cater to our daughter's vegan diet! Everything here is child-centric, thoughtfully-designed and educationally progressive. Definitely a place where children can thrive!

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does "Primus Schoolhouse" charge per month?

Primus Schoolhouse is listed at the mid-range price tier ($$), but specific monthly fee figures are not published on this listing. For licensed childcare centres in Singapore, monthly fees typically range from around S$700 to S$1,500 depending on the programme type and the child's age group, before subsidies are applied. Contact the centre directly to confirm the current fee schedule. Beyond monthly fees, ask about the one-time registration fee, the deposit (commonly equivalent to one to two months' fees), and any costs for uniforms, insurance, or enrichment programmes. Childcare fees at ECDA-licensed centres are exempt from GST, so the quoted figure should reflect the full amount payable before subsidies. See the full childcare cost guide for Singapore →

What subsidies can I claim at "Primus Schoolhouse"?

Singapore citizen children enrolled at ECDA-licensed childcare centres may be eligible for the Basic Subsidy — up to S$600 per month for infant care or up to S$300 per month for childcare — regardless of household income. Mothers who work, are studying full-time, or have a qualifying medical condition may additionally claim the Working Mother's Child Care Subsidy, which requires the mother to be employed for at least 56 hours per month. Households with per capita monthly incomes below S$12,000 may qualify for Additional Subsidy, which can bring total combined support up to S$710 per month. Kindergarten-only programmes may be eligible for KiFAS instead. Permanent residents receive partial subsidies at lower quantum levels. Subsidy amounts and eligibility criteria are subject to change — visit the ECDA website directly for the most current figures and to apply via the ChildcareLink portal.

Is there a waitlist at "Primus Schoolhouse"?

Availability at preschools and kindergartens in Singapore varies, and popular centres can fill up several months in advance. For infant care places in particular, it is common for families to enquire six to twelve months ahead of the intended start date. January is the primary intake month aligned to the school year, so demand peaks for that period. To secure a place, centres typically require payment of a registration fee and a deposit. Contact Primus Schoolhouse directly — via phone or the enquiry form on this listing — to ask about current vacancy for your child's age group and intended start month. Do this as early as possible to avoid missing available slots.
