Went to visit my dad and was pleasantly surprised to see buskers going ward to ward, singing for the patients. It was so warm and comforting, and it truly lifted the atmosphere. Thank you, NTFGH, for arranging this meaningful gesture. 💙🎶

To the Management and Staff of Ng Teng Fong General Hospital, I am writing this letter to express my deepest gratitude for the exceptional care I received during my recent stay at your hospital from 15 January to 17 January 2026. Hospitalization can often be a stressful and daunting experience, but the professionalism and warmth of your team made a significant difference in my recovery. In particular, I would like to bring your attention to two outstanding staff members, Le Xuan and Yu Zheng. Commendation for Le Xuan and Yu Zheng Throughout my stay, Le Xuan and Yu Zheng displayed a level of selfless dedication that truly moved me. Their service went far beyond their primary clinical duties; they provided comfort, clarity, and genuine empathy during moments when I felt most vulnerable. * Le Xuan’s meticulous attention to detail and proactive approach ensured that I felt safe and well-informed at every step. * Yu Zheng’s unwavering patience and kindness provided a sense of calm that was incredibly reassuring. It is individuals like them who uphold the high standards of Ng Teng Fong General Hospital and contribute to the global renown and success of Singapore’s healthcare system. Their commitment to excellence is a testament to the values your institution stands for. Please convey my heartfelt thanks to the entire ward team. My recovery was made so much smoother because of the environment of care you have fostered. I wish Le Xuan, Yu Zheng, and the rest of your staff continued happiness and well-being in the vital work that you do every day. Your contributions do not go unnoticed, and I am truly grateful. With sincere appreciation, LEE NAE RONG [88087918/WARD 08 Bed 10

My wife Mdm Rabiah bte Karman was admitted into the AMU ward B2 Bed 7 on Thursday 26th February 2026 and was being discharged on the 2nd of March 2026. She was being transferred from A&E to AMU. The reason why I’m giving one star rating is because, from the first day my wife was there till the day she’s discharged the bed covers that she’s slept was never clean and changed. This is so ridiculous as I thought hospital should maintain their hygiene. But it wasn’t. I’ve been thinking of reporting this matters to the board of health as I’m very dissatisfied and disappointed by the way they do their job. I would like add that the table that my wife used for taking her meals also never been cleaned and also my wife is a diabetic patient when she asked for black Coffee but was given coffee with milk and sugar that so sweet. I was hoping that the head of the department could do something about this matter before I proceed with necessary action. Thank You 🙏

Super slow considering I'm at the A&E department of a hospital. Also, they didn't allow me to accompany my dad into the room but when I asked what are the aftercare instructions or things to take note at the payment counter, the staff mentioned that nurses would've explained it inside the room. FYI my father doesn't speak English and he cannot understand whatever they said but he just agreeds with them in the room. In the end, we left the hospital unclear about the entire process and followup.

NTFGH was my hospital of choice for years, but this experience has me questioning their processes. i was referred from a polyclinic to get a gastroscopy, where the doctors there explained the procedure to me and assured me that i would be sedated, which encouraged me to go ahead with the procedure. without the assurance of sedation, i would not have gone through with the procedure at all. i also heard from people around me that they were sedated during the procedure. at the hospital, the receptionist gave me a document that stated what to do after the procedure as i would be under sedation. i also arranged for someone to bring me home to ensure my safety after being under sedation, as instructed by the hospital. during the procedure, i was given a numbing spray down my throat and then a mouth-widening piece. there was no sedation. i could not ask or request for it as my mouth was already held open by the piece and they started with the procedure while i was confused and scared. it was extremely uncomfortable and i was gagging and crying uncontrollably. i held my hand twice up to request for the procedure to stop, but my hand was just held down by the nurses instead. i don't know if they misunderstood my intention. after the procedure, i was reeled out of the procedure room and i did not see the doctor after that. i asked the nurse why i was not given sedation and they replied that "this doctor usually doesn't give". i'm really confused as to why there was a change in the procedure and why this was not communicated prior. other nurses outside of those involved in the procedure also seemed to be confused, asking their colleagues "hey, this patient wasn't sedated?". if the process was explained to me prior, i could have at least asked and requested for the sedation. and if this is common for this particular doctor, why does the doctor get to decide for the patient without prior consent? it was then written in my report that i "tolerated the procedure well". i really did not have a choice - my request to stop was not taken into consideration. i would like to say, however, that the receptionist and nurses outside of the procedure were lovely.
