I was warmly greeted by Mr. Keith Kwok upon arrival and invited to take a seat while waiting for my lesson to begin. Once class started, the energy shifted completely, I was genuinely impressed by how professional and structured his teaching style was. You can tell he’s passionate and deeply knowledgeable about the craft. It was a fun and engaging lesson taught by Mr Kwok. As someone with no experience/background in piano, I was able to play a song by the end of the class! SOMA is easy to find and accessible for both drivers and those coming on foot. Parking is per-entry after 5 PM on weekdays, which is a big plus for evening lessons. Overall 10/10 experience. Highly recommend for anyone looking to improve their music fundamentals or performance confidence.
My experience at SOMA as an international student was amazing! The staff and faculty go to great lengths to ensure a comfortable environment for students. The head Mr. Keith Kwok is very involved and attends to each student personally.
I completed the Diploma in Music Production and Engineering in 2022, as well as took several of their songwriting courses. The school faculty are knowledgeable and approachable, and the course is well-structured to facilitate learning. The most important thing is to be proactive and independent. Their courses reward students who are willing to put in the time and effort to explore beyond the classroom.
While looking for a school to learn music production, SOMA stood out because of the credentials of their instructors. Throughout my time as a Diploma of Music Production and Engineering student there, I felt inspired, motivated, and supported by the school. Every module was enriching and exciting for me. I had really great instructors who would go out of their way to guide us. Highlights of the course are definitely the visit to Star Theatre, the Foley project, and the recording and music production sessions helmed by us students. The extra masterclasses, workshops and events also broadened my knowledge of the industry and aided in my networking. I would highly recommend this course to anyone looking to learn about audio engineering and music production.
I must say that I’m so impressed with Soma school of music. Not only that they offer great music lessons, instruments, facilities. The staffs and boss are the kindest people. Highly recommend all music and arts lovers to go!! 💖💕

Many music schools in Singapore offer a trial lesson — sometimes at a reduced fee, sometimes at the standard session rate — before you commit to a term or monthly package. A trial is the most useful way to assess whether the teaching style suits the student, whether the level is appropriate, and whether the student feels engaged and comfortable with the teacher. When attending a trial, pay attention to how the teacher structures the lesson, how they respond to the student's current ability, and whether they can explain what a longer progression would look like. Contact SOMA directly via WhatsApp or the enquiry form to ask about their trial class policy and availability.
Teacher credentials were not listed in the publicly available information for SOMA at the time of this listing. For music schools, relevant qualifications to ask about include formal music degrees (conservatoire or university level), practical performance experience, teaching experience in the relevant instrument or discipline, and familiarity with graded examination syllabi such as ABRSM or Trinity College London if examination preparation is your goal. We recommend asking SOMA directly about the qualifications and teaching background of the specific teacher who would be assigned to your lessons. Some schools allow you to request a particular teacher, while others assign based on availability and level.
