I would like to share my family's experience with Dr. Choo Bok Ai, a Senior Radiation Oncologist at Icon Mount Alvernia. My mum was referred to him recently and after our first consultation visit she was still undecided about getting private or public treatment options. To our surprise, Dr. Choo personally sent me an SMS to follow up and check on how my mum was coping with the decision. I was genuinely touched, throughout my mum’s illness, we have met many doctors, but I have never encountered someone as passionate, down-to-earth, and dedicated as Dr. Choo. His willingness to reach out personally shows how deeply he cares for his patients, not just medically but emotionally as well. He took the time to explain every detail in a way my mum could understand, and his patience gave her a lot of comfort. Dr. Choo is incredibly knowledgeable, yet so humble and kind. You can feel that he truly wants the best for his patients and goes above and beyond to support them during a very stressful time. In the end, we chose to do treatment with him and we are grateful we did. His team of nurses and front-desk staff are also wonderful, caring, gentle and always ready to assist. Every visit feels calm and reassuring because of the positive environment they create. I sincerely appreciate Dr. Choo Bok Ai and his amazing team for their compassion, professionalism and genuine dedication. My mum feels safe and well-cared for and that means more to us than words can say. Highly recommended.

Dr. Choo Bok Ai is exceptionally kind and caring. With a wealth of knowledge and a wonderful sense of humor, he and his team (no matter nurses or front desk staffs) make our every visit feel comfortable and reassuring.

Witnessed a friend seek treatment here for cancer. Was not very comfortable with the service for a few reasons: 1. A blood test was done that my friend was not aware of (may have just been mentioned in passing if at all), and she just suddenly received the results from the counter one day. 2. The clinic didn’t seem proactive in informing the patient when she had results ready for collection, and my friend had to keep calling up to chase them. 3. Even though my friend asked to arrange a follow up visit, clinic was slow to arrange the visit and in the end no visit was arranged. In general the clinic vibe was not as personal and caring as expected for a cancer clinic, and it felt like there was no urgency to follow up and inform the patient of things.
