About Singapore Red Cross TransportAid

About Singapore Red Cross TransportAid

Singapore Red Cross TransportAid is an eldercare transport service operating islandwide from Red Cross House on Penang Lane. It is KakiList-verified and ACRA-registered, and holds a strong rating of 4.9 out of 5 across 700 Google reviews — a robust sample that provides meaningful confidence in service quality. Pricing is indicated at the mid-range ($$) tier, though a specific rate structure was not provided; families should contact the service directly for current fare details.

The service is designed to support seniors who require assisted or wheelchair-accessible transport — typically to medical appointments, day rehabilitation centres, or dialysis sessions. Before booking, families should establish the elder's mobility level and any equipment needs (wheelchair, stretcher, oxygen), confirm the pick-up and drop-off addresses, and clarify whether escort assistance is required door-to-door or kerb-to-kerb. As a Red Cross programme, TransportAid is likely means-tested or subsidised for eligible users, so it is worth enquiring about eligibility criteria and whether a referral from a social worker, hospital discharge team, or AIC (Agency for Integrated Care) is needed to access the service.

To arrange transport, contact Singapore Red Cross TransportAid by phone or through the online enquiry form on their website. Have the elder's mobility requirements, preferred appointment schedule, and any relevant medical information ready when you call.

The flow of the day was smooth and well planned from the start till the end. Trainers were friendly, knowledgeable and the teaching style were interactive. Kudos the the Red Cross team! Special thanks to my floor trainer Mr Ambrose for the jokes which helps us to remember the steps better and probe us with questions repeatedly till it stuck into our brains. With lots of practice time and encouragement, our whole team are BCLS &AED certified.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Singapore Red Cross TransportAid charge?

Singapore Red Cross TransportAid does not publish a detailed rate card in its KakiList listing, though pricing is indicated at a mid-range ($$) level. As a Red Cross programme, fees may be subsidised or means-tested for eligible beneficiaries, and a social worker or AIC referral may unlock further assistance. When enquiring, ask specifically about the per-trip rate, any surcharges for wheelchair or stretcher requirements, and whether return journeys are bundled or billed separately. Public holiday and peak-hour premiums, if applicable, should also be confirmed in writing before booking. See the full eldercare cost guide for Singapore →

Live-in or visit-based — which does Singapore Red Cross TransportAid offer?

Singapore Red Cross TransportAid is a transport service rather than a residential or in-home care provider, so the live-in versus visit-based framing does not apply here. The service focuses on point-to-point assisted journeys — most commonly to medical appointments, day rehabilitation centres, or dialysis facilities — on a scheduled, recurring, or ad hoc basis. Families can typically arrange recurring weekly bookings for regular therapy or treatment appointments, or request one-off trips as needed. Confirm the booking lead time required, whether a regular driver can be assigned for continuity, and what the cancellation or reschedule policy is for last-minute changes due to the elder's health.

Is the caregiver trained and insured?

Singapore Red Cross TransportAid is operated under the Singapore Red Cross, an established humanitarian organisation with ACRA registration and a strong public track record. Its 4.9-out-of-5 rating across 700 Google reviews is a robust signal of consistent service quality. Families should confirm directly whether transport escorts hold first-aid or eldercare handling training, and what the protocol is if a passenger requires medical attention during transit. Ask also about the vehicle insurance coverage applicable to passengers — particularly for wheelchair-users or those travelling post-surgery — and whether the service carries public liability insurance for client incidents during boarding and alighting.
