Families typically begin by enquiring about available slots for their intended start month, as places — particularly for younger age groups — can fill several months in advance. When you make contact, ask about the infant-to-caregiver ratios for your child's age band, the structure of the daily routine, and how the centre manages the settling-in period for new enrolments. It is also worth confirming whether Singapore citizen children enrolled here are eligible for ECDA childcare subsidies, as subsidy eligibility depends on the centre's registration status with ECDA.
To take the next step, reach out to St James' Church Kindergarten directly via phone or the enquiry form listed on this page to ask about current vacancy for your preferred start month and to arrange a centre visit.
Visit the centre in person, meet the lead teacher, and read the parent contract before signing.

The most wonderful preschool ever! This is the third year our children are in St James', and we couldn't love it more. It is truly like one big family - the kids call their teachers "Auntie" :) The principal, teachers and staff are phenomenal! Gentle, nurturing and with a genuine heart of love for the children. You can really tell that they view teaching as a calling to shape young hearts and minds, rather than just as a job. The school places a strong emphasis on inculcating good character and values, and the entire team really leads by example. The teachers are dynamic, energetic and extremely creative in their pedagogical approach. We love that they have many student-led projects (known as Topics of Inquiry) that stretch the children's imaginations and allow the little ones to initiate and execute their original designs. The school was just renovated at the end of 2024, resulting in bright, cheerful and airy classrooms with lots of space. We love the spacious outdoor plaza area which is home to hours of fun and games, as well as the light room and music room which are fun centers for exploration. Most importantly, all our kids absolutely love their teachers and are so happy going to school each day. A big thank you to the entire St James team - we love you and are so grateful for you!
My son started his N2 journey at the beginning of the year. Having put him to 3 schools, cos we moved house, I got a chance to see the differences in teaching in the 3 schools. For SJC little seeds, it is the best choice as the teachers are very caring and passionate about nurturing the children. In short 5 months, I could see the growth in my son, becoming more independent.
Little seeds curriculum is great for the young kids to learn and play. Great environment and teachers. Children are happy to go to school!
LSP (St James) is a wonderful place for children to spend their preschool years. The school campus has been revamped and has a brighter, more open space for children to play and learn. Our children have been blessed to learn under teachers who genuinely care and love the children. The school focusses on values-based learning. We particularly liked the creative methods adopted by the school to introduce primary school to them.
It is amazing to immerse in the creative world created by our children. Thank so much to all the teachers especially teacher Xixi and teacher Evelyn of Starlight 1!

St James' Church Kindergarten is priced at the mid-range ($$) tier, though a specific monthly fee figure is not published on this listing. When you enquire, ask for the full fee schedule covering the monthly programme fee, any one-time registration fee, and the deposit amount — typically equivalent to one to two months' fees — payable upon enrolment confirmation. Also ask about uniform costs and group insurance premiums, which are sometimes billed separately at the start of each year. Childcare and kindergarten fees in Singapore are GST-exempt, so the figure quoted should be the amount you pay. See the full childcare cost guide for Singapore →
Singapore citizen children enrolled at ECDA-registered centres may be eligible for the Basic Subsidy (up to S$300 per month for childcare, or up to S$600 per month for infant care), and working mothers who clock at least 56 hours of work per month may additionally qualify for the Working Mother's Child Care Subsidy. Families with a gross monthly household income at or below S$12,000 may be eligible for the Additional Subsidy, which can bring the combined subsidy quantum up to S$710 per month or more depending on income band. Kindergartens registered under the KiFAS (Kindergarten Fee Assistance Scheme) offer targeted fee support for lower-income households. Permanent Residents receive partial subsidies at lower quantum than citizens. Subsidy rates are reviewed periodically — confirm current figures directly with ECDA at ecda.gov.sg before budgeting, and ask St James' Church Kindergarten which subsidy schemes they are registered to administer.
Popular preschools and kindergartens in Singapore frequently carry waitlists, and it is advisable to enquire three to twelve months ahead of your intended start date. Infant care places tend to be the most competitive. January is the primary annual intake month for most centres, so families targeting a January start should begin enquiring no later than the preceding March or April. To secure a place once offered, centres typically require payment of a registration fee and a deposit. Contact St James' Church Kindergarten directly via phone or the enquiry form to ask about current availability for your child's age group and preferred start month, as vacancy positions change throughout the year.
