Prospective students or parents are encouraged to enquire about level and syllabus fit — whether that is ABRSM grading, Trinity, or informal recreational learning — as well as instrument options and scheduling. It is worth clarifying whether lessons are offered one-to-one or in small groups, and whether tuition is delivered in-person at the Circular Road studio or online. Many music schools offer a trial lesson before a term commitment is required, so asking about this early in your enquiry can help gauge teaching style and whether the pace suits the learner.
To get started, reach out to Studio 72 via WhatsApp, phone, or the online enquiry form to ask about current availability, instrument offerings, and lesson formats before committing to a term.

I have been learning guitar at Studio 72 under the guidance of teacher Mel, and it has been a truly positive experience. I began with acoustic guitar and later progressed to electric guitar, with lessons thoughtfully tailored to my musical interests and learning pace. Mel is friendly, approachable and very encouraging, especially when it comes to jamming sessions and the annual performance showcase (so far held at a Heroes and Hardrock cafe), which has been a great confidence boost. The studio is flexible and understanding of busy schedules, and the overall environment is kind, supportive and motivating. I have also learned a great deal from interacting and playing alongside fellow students, making the experience both enriching and enjoyable.
I have been with Studio 72 since Oct 20, 2021. I am currently learning from Derrick, my third vocal training teacher at Studio 72. Even though I only train on an average of once a week with him. I feel an improvement in awareness of tension in my vocal chords. As well as increasing the vocal range by one octave. I would highly recommend Studio 72 as a learning platform regardless of skill level.
I’ve been attending Studio72 for drum lessons for the past 2-3 years, and I highly recommend this school! The community they’ve built is very welcoming, and I really appreciate how everyone prioritises having fun over playing “perfectly”. This encourages me to enjoy the process of learning songs, rather than being overly-fixated on the end result. I’m grateful to be learning under teacher Haikal, who is incredibly patient and supportive. He never fails to teach me various techniques to find one which works for me, and his calm demeanour helps keep me grounded and believe that everything will work out (even when it doesn’t feel that way to me 🤣). The other teachers are very talented and passionate about their work as well, and it’s amazing how the owner Ivy has brought together these talented musicians to teach! I always look forward to attending lessons and I will continue to do so!!
Really enjoy taking electric guitar lessons here! Teacher Chalmers is amazing and really cares about his students' development, tailoring his approach to whatever helps them learn best! The studio boss/admin is also super friendly and accommodating when it comes to schedule changes, really amazing being able to juggle the schedules of so many different students and teachers, truly not an easy feat! The community here is fantastic as well - there is a monthly jamming session where students get to come together and just jam and enjoy in their common love for music which is great! They recently held their annual student showcase where the students get to show off what they've learnt to their family and friends, which is quite rare for music schools to provide these kind of opportunities! Definitely would recommend for anybody who wants to learn how to sing/play an instrument at any experience level.
Mel and the Studio 72 team have been an incredible community - I keep coming back to (despite having to travel +1hr each way), I especially value how the classes with Mel are focused on enjoying music and learning based on passion and interest, vs by rote and force. He's a legend in his own right, but incredibly patient and welcoming of all skill levels, the team at Studio 72 are also very warm - and make so much of an effort - from monthly jams to end of the year concerts, to really give students an opportunity to both enjoy the process of learning music and the avenue to showcase it (while making new friends). Would especially recommend Studio 72 to working adults - perfect end to a busy day!

Studio 72 has not published a specific fee schedule on this listing. In the Singapore music school market, individual instrument lessons typically range from S$40–80 per session for group classes and S$60–150 per session for one-to-one tuition, depending on the instrument, teacher's credentials, and lesson duration. Some schools charge per session, while others bundle fees into monthly or per-term packages. Extras to ask about include registration or enrolment fees, graded examination entry fees (ABRSM, Trinity), and any materials or books required. Sibling discounts or package bundles may also be available. Confirm all fees in writing before committing. See the full Music Schools cost guide for Singapore →
Many music schools in Singapore offer a trial lesson, sometimes at a reduced rate or included in the first month's fee, so it is worth asking Studio 72 directly whether this is available. A trial session is a useful way to assess whether the teaching approach suits the learner's age and temperament, whether the level is appropriately pitched, and whether there is a good rapport between the student and instructor. For younger children, observe whether the teacher holds their attention and maintains a structured yet encouraging dynamic. For older students or adult learners, the trial is a good moment to discuss goals — recreational playing, grade examinations, or performance — and confirm the syllabus alignment before signing up for a full term.
Specific tutor qualifications have not been listed for Studio 72. When enquiring, it is reasonable to ask whether instructors hold music degrees or diplomas (such as LTCL, LRSM, or university music qualifications), whether they have prior teaching experience with students at your level, and whether they are familiar with the ABRSM or Trinity examination syllabuses if graded examinations are a goal. For children, experience teaching young learners and an ability to maintain engagement matters as much as formal credentials. If the school cannot provide tutor profiles upfront, request a brief introduction or profile before the first session.
