About Studio BTY

About Studio BTY

Studio BTY is a music school based at 24B Circular Road in the heart of Singapore's CBD, listed under the Education category on KakiList and verified by a real person who confirmed its operating details and contact channels. It holds a Google rating of 4.7 out of 5 across 59 reviews — a moderate sample that provides a reasonable directional signal. Pricing is indicated at the mid-range tier ($$), though specific per-session or package fees are not published on this listing.

Prospective students or parents can get started by enquiring about level and syllabus fit — whether that is beginner or intermediate instruction, a particular instrument, or a specific examination board such as ABRSM or Trinity. It is worth clarifying whether lessons are offered one-to-one or in small groups, what term commitment is expected, and whether lessons take place in-studio on Circular Road or via an online option. The studio's Islandwide coverage note suggests some flexibility in how tuition is delivered, so confirming the format before booking is advisable.

The most direct next step is to reach out via WhatsApp, phone, or the enquiry form to ask about a trial class, confirm current availability, and request a full fee schedule before committing to a term.

I have been learning guitar at Studio 72 under the guidance of teacher Mel, and it has been a truly positive experience. I began with acoustic guitar and later progressed to electric guitar, with lessons thoughtfully tailored to my musical interests and learning pace. Mel is friendly, approachable and very encouraging, especially when it comes to jamming sessions and the annual performance showcase (so far held at a Heroes and Hardrock cafe), which has been a great confidence boost. The studio is flexible and understanding of busy schedules, and the overall environment is kind, supportive and motivating. I have also learned a great deal from interacting and playing alongside fellow students, making the experience both enriching and enjoyable.

I have been with Studio 72 since Oct 20, 2021. I am currently learning from Derrick, my third vocal training teacher at Studio 72. Even though I only train on an average of once a week with him. I feel an improvement in awareness of tension in my vocal chords. As well as increasing the vocal range by one octave. I would highly recommend Studio 72 as a learning platform regardless of skill level.

I’ve been attending Studio72 for drum lessons for the past 2-3 years, and I highly recommend this school! The community they’ve built is very welcoming, and I really appreciate how everyone prioritises having fun over playing “perfectly”. This encourages me to enjoy the process of learning songs, rather than being overly-fixated on the end result. I’m grateful to be learning under teacher Haikal, who is incredibly patient and supportive. He never fails to teach me various techniques to find one which works for me, and his calm demeanour helps keep me grounded and believe that everything will work out (even when it doesn’t feel that way to me 🤣). The other teachers are very talented and passionate about their work as well, and it’s amazing how the owner Ivy has brought together these talented musicians to teach! I always look forward to attending lessons and I will continue to do so!!

Really enjoy taking electric guitar lessons here! Teacher Chalmers is amazing and really cares about his students' development, tailoring his approach to whatever helps them learn best! The studio boss/admin is also super friendly and accommodating when it comes to schedule changes, really amazing being able to juggle the schedules of so many different students and teachers, truly not an easy feat! The community here is fantastic as well - there is a monthly jamming session where students get to come together and just jam and enjoy in their common love for music which is great! They recently held their annual student showcase where the students get to show off what they've learnt to their family and friends, which is quite rare for music schools to provide these kind of opportunities! Definitely would recommend for anybody who wants to learn how to sing/play an instrument at any experience level.

Mel and the Studio 72 team have been an incredible community - I keep coming back to (despite having to travel +1hr each way), I especially value how the classes with Mel are focused on enjoying music and learning based on passion and interest, vs by rote and force. He's a legend in his own right, but incredibly patient and welcoming of all skill levels, the team at Studio 72 are also very warm - and make so much of an effort - from monthly jams to end of the year concerts, to really give students an opportunity to both enjoy the process of learning music and the avenue to showcase it (while making new friends). Would especially recommend Studio 72 to working adults - perfect end to a busy day!

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Studio BTY charge per session?

Studio BTY displays a mid-range pricing tier ($$) on its listing, but specific per-session rates, monthly packages, or term fees are not published here. For music tuition in Singapore, individual lessons typically range from S$40 to S$120 or more per session depending on the instrument, the teacher's qualifications, lesson duration, and whether tuition is one-to-one or in a group format. When you enquire, ask whether there is a separate registration or materials fee, and whether a sibling discount or multi-lesson package rate applies. A trial class may carry a different fee from regular sessions, so clarify that upfront as well. See the full Music Schools cost guide for Singapore →

Can I try a class before committing?

Many music schools in Singapore offer a trial lesson — sometimes at a reduced rate, sometimes at the standard session fee — so it is worth asking Studio BTY directly whether one is available and what it costs. A trial class is the most reliable way to assess whether the teaching style suits the student, whether the level is appropriately pitched, and whether the student leaves the session engaged and motivated. For younger learners in particular, the relationship with the teacher often matters as much as the technical syllabus. If a trial is available, use it to ask about the examination pathway (for example, ABRSM or Trinity grades), homework expectations, and what happens if you need to reschedule or pause lessons mid-term.

What are the tutors' credentials at Studio BTY?

Credential details for Studio BTY's teaching staff are not published on this listing. For music instruction, relevant qualifications to look out for include a diploma or degree in music performance or education, practical experience as a performer, and familiarity with the specific examination board or syllabus your child is working towards — such as ABRSM, Trinity College London, or NAFA-aligned programmes. If preparation for graded examinations is a goal, ask whether the teacher has a track record of students sitting and passing at the relevant grade levels. For adult learners focused on recreational playing rather than examinations, teaching style and personality fit may be the more important consideration. Contact Studio BTY directly via WhatsApp, phone, or the enquiry form to ask about the qualifications and experience of the specific teacher who would be assigned.
