T.H.E Dance Company is a dance school operating islandwide from its studio at Goodman Arts Centre in Singapore. It is KakiList verified and ACRA registered. Prospective students or parents should enquire about the level and syllabus fit for their age group and dance interest — whether that is contemporary, ballet, hip-hop, or another genre. It is worth asking whether classes are offered in group or one-to-one format, what the term commitment looks like, and whether a trial class is available before signing up for a full term. The studio is located within Goodman Arts Centre, a well-known arts hub, so confirming the specific class schedule and room allocation in advance is advisable.
To take the next step, reach out to T.H.E Dance Company via WhatsApp, phone, or the enquiry form listed on their profile to ask about current class availability, the appropriate level for your child or yourself, and whether a trial session can be arranged before committing to a term.
Take the trial class and confirm the tutor's actual credentials before committing to a term.
Taking the Foundational Contemporary Dance course was an incredible experience. Our instructor, Yixuan was patient, and I learned not just about movement, but about spatial awareness - when to contract, when to release, when to push, when to pull. It becomes a course of sensing the body, loosening tension, learning the balance of surrendering and control, fluidity and composure. How you feel in your own skin. Yixuan’s approach is both insightful and intuitive, encouraging us to trust our bodies and connect deeply with the rhythm of movement. If you’re looking to deepen your understanding of contemporary dance while cultivating a greater awareness of your body and space, I highly recommend this course!
I caught T.H.E's production of Searching Blue and I had an amazing time! The immersive and captivating performance brought us from their beautiful studio space out into the Goodman Arts Centre space and beyond. The quality of contemporary dance was truly on another level. I loved the sound design as well. I will definitely be catching more of their future shows :D
I enjoyed myself so much and I think that’s number 1 when it comes to trying new things. I have zero dance experience but Kim and the students were very encouraging, patient and open to receiving this clueless two-left-feet adult human bean. However to be fair to myself, I have been practicing yoga for years. I’d say that helped tremendously in terms of flexibility and mobility. Even then, I’d defer to the Introductory class instead to understand the poses and transitions in-between. For someone who hasn’t been active at all, it’s better to start with Intro classes. Thank you THE!!
Loved their dance classes! Zu You's a great instructor, patient & breaks it down well. I like his focus on the underlying energy rather than just the movements. I also like that those who take part are mostly working, & very friendly. Only gripe is that sometimes choreo involves a lot of turning - but maybe it's a good challenge.
Love the Intro and Beginner classes on Mondays. Instructors are very patient and I really appreciate the way movements are broken down. Class pace is great, very enjoyable :)

T.H.E Dance Company has not published specific session fees publicly, so you will need to enquire directly for current pricing. As a general reference, dance classes in Singapore typically run S$25–60 per session for group classes, with monthly packages often working out more economical than paying per session. One-to-one instruction will generally sit at a higher rate. It is worth asking whether there is a separate registration fee, whether materials or costume costs apply for performances, and whether sibling or multi-class discounts are available. Some schools offer term-based fees rather than per-session pricing, which can affect how you plan ahead. See the full Dance Schools cost guide for Singapore →
Many dance schools in Singapore offer a trial class — sometimes at a reduced fee, sometimes at the standard session rate — before asking students to commit to a full term. It is worth contacting T.H.E Dance Company directly to confirm their trial class policy and what it costs. When attending a trial, pay attention to whether the level is appropriate, whether the teaching style suits the student's learning pace, and whether the class environment feels encouraging. For younger children especially, observing how the instructor manages the group and handles different abilities is a useful gauge of fit. If a trial is available, take it before paying for a term commitment. This applies equally to adult learners and children.
Specific instructor credentials for T.H.E Dance Company are not listed in the public profile. When enquiring, it is reasonable to ask about each instructor's formal dance training background, any performance or competition experience, and how long they have been teaching. For children's classes in particular, it is also worth asking whether instructors have experience working with younger age groups and whether there is consistency in who teaches each class from term to term. Professional dance companies and arts-centre-based schools often have practitioners with performance backgrounds, but teaching experience and pedagogy are equally important. If credential details are not readily available on their website or social media, ask directly before committing to a term.
